So who is working tomorrow?

9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to Thursday. Repeat on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

After work on Thursday morning, I’ll go home to breakfast with the family, then nap until noon. Then drive out to my dad’s house in Torrance (dinner is at 2:00; I’m bringing crescent rolls and ambrosia salad). Head back to Anaheim at 5:00, drop Kayla off at Disneyland in time for her 6:30 shift. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to take a nap for an hour before going back to work.

Work Thanksgiving from 4pm to midnight. We get a catered dinner and it’s usually un-crazy enough to eat while it’s still hot. Off Friday - I always take Friday after Thanksgiving off and call it “Go Nowhere and Do Nothing Day.” But this one’s an exception as I got free tickets to see Sherlock Holmes at the Oriental Theater for the matinee. Once I get home I’ll do what I would usually do on that day and cook a duck with trimmings. I like it better than turkey.

Me. I’m in a shipping center and its my job to make sure that you get all the stuff you ordered online yesterday (Wednesday) by tomorrow.

I work at a members only private club. I work 2pm to close as a Bartender.
We only serve dinner buffet from 5-8PM so it shouldn’t be too late.

Yeah for Double time!!

Me. Thanksgiving isn’t a thing here.

I’m at work right now. But, obviously, not “working.” I’m about to get started though.

Worked today, at 2.5 times normal rate. No problem! Happy to do it! (Need money!)

Working tomorrow, too, and the weekend. Not off until Monday and Tuesday.

I spent the first half of the day counting fruit flies, working on my (hopefully) final experiment. I examined a couple thousand flies to see how many of them had a very slightly constricted vein in their wing. Loads of fun.

I’ll be spending the rest of the day working on my dissertation while my family sits at home without me.

I hate my life right now.

On the bright side, we’re missing out on all the cooking and cleaning.

I worked from home today as well as tomorrow. The futures markets are open both days. I volunteered since I’d rather have the summer holidays off, I figured today and tomorrow I’d have minimal work and be paid to watch parades and football.

Oh, I’m here. 2-11 p.m., as with most holidays that don’t fall on my off days. My mere 25+ year of seniority doesn’t buy me much when the other guy has 30+ ;). But really, I don’t mind. I’m taking off Friday and Saturday ( both regular work days for me ) to do Thanksgiving-type stuff with assorted family.

Another hour and I’m done here. Nothing broke today, so, kinda slow… should have brought in another book to read.

I’m an author, and if I can possibly get in a couple of hours of work, I will. (No, I’m not doing NaNoWriMo, but I am on the second draft of my novel.)

On my way home now. Was busy tonight! I didn’t get to eat until 11, but it was good. Got some apple pie to take home. I’m still full, so I can at least skip having to feed myself before I go to bed. Gotta get up kinda early to get to that matinee.

I so want you to start an ‘Ask the Fruit Fly Researcher’ thread Smeg! Please???

I can’t imagine why, but ask me again in a month or so when things have hopefully settled down a bit if you’re still interested.

I’m working right now, though I get to work from home today, which is nice. It’s super slow, also nice, which allows me to screw around and write posts here. The downside? I’m about to murder my children.

Working every day the entire week. My first meeting was yesterday at 8:00 AM. I started this morning at 7:00 AM. I’m covering for my entire group, so someone has to be around. Plus, I’m the only one of us who has overseas accounts and they don’t have Thanksgiving there, so we got a TON of things done yesterday which was good.

I’m a contractor, and I don’t get paid holidays, so I always work through them - I need the 40 hour week.

Logged 8 hours today in a nearly deserted government agency. Curiously, there was a significant amount of work for me…some of it correcting stuff now-absent co-workers had messed up in a great rush before the holiday. I got a lot done and managed not to roll my eyes when a few cheerful idlers stopped by to exclaim about how little work they were doing…

Don’t go back to work until Tuesday
