So who's going to see Sarah's movie?

I don’t understand…how would that work? Was the reporter in collusion with the theater manager? Did the reporter put a big CLOSED sign on the theater door? Did the reporter buy out the whole showing himself? What rationale are they giving for thinking this?

ETA: Never mind…I see the following post. Eh…sounds implausible.

In the article the reporter mentions two other people who came in that found the listing for the movie online, but didn’t really know what it was about, and left after 20 minutes (I assume, going by the title, that they thought it was going to be some type of action flick).

So, yeah if the reporter did arrange this screening, he would also have to have arranged putting it up in the online listings as well.

And honestly, would anyone be that shocked to find out that Palin’s fans are making baseless charges? These are the same people, after all, who tried altering Paul Revere’s Wiki page not too long ago.

Harry Potter fans need to get up at 6:30AM for school not 4:30AM for the early bird special.

A.V. Club’s coverage. They didn’t like it. Shocking, I know.

Me.

Well, to be fair, most of the people who would go to see it were probably in bed by 9pm.

You folks are brilliant, and oh so clever. Sarah Palin admirers are all dunderhead simpletons who are in bed when the sun goes down! Witty! Insightful! Deep and meaningful observations! I wish I could be so erudite!

For the life of me, and with all due respect, I cannot possible see how anyone could be an “admirer” of Sarah Palin.

She quit the office of governor halfway through her term, for no stated reason, and for no discernible reason other than to go on speaking tours and make money.

She can’t answer the easiest questions about foreign or domestic policy without resorting to content-less sound bites.

She refers to the most common and banal of questions as “gotcha” questions, and cannot answer the simplest of questions without going into a diatribe about a “lamestream” media conspiracy.

She literally has NOTHING to contribute to the political discourse of this country other than patriotic sound bites.

I read somewhere that the Houtson sneak preview had about 50 attendees. I suspect the invisible hand of the free market will give “The Undefeated” the same slap in the face it gave “Atlas Shrugged.”

Actually, that’s a very good rundown of why.

Oh, snap! (as the kids say)

at least they did a few years ago

Tell us what you think after you see it. I’m honestly curious about a sympathetic person’s view of the movie.

Seconded. (But do try and be erudite.)

You left out how she said “I can see Russia from my house!”

(She didn’t, though most people who would say the things above think she did. Tina Fey said it.)

Actually, I did leave it out for that reason. The other things I mentioned are arguably factual (in the case of the first three), and the fourth is my opinion and my reason for not understanding how anyone could be an admirer of her.

Care to fill us in, those of us who aren’t admirers?

Or to lead a conservative movement and to rid her state of the burden of having a governor who is (unfairly and viciously) vilified by the national media, resulting in distracting and costly lawsuits, etc.

Purely opinion. And not well founded opinion either.

Ditto. You call these facts? If you truly think she has not been savaged by the media, you just aren’t paying attention. You don’t have to admire her, support her, or like her to acknowledge that.

Literally? Really? As you say, this is nothing but knee-jerk opinion. Tell me who you support (I suspect it starts with an O and ends with a ma) and I can make the same wild condemnations.

Palin lied about the costs of those lawsuits she used as an excuse to abandon her post. the Anchorage Daily News ran a story the day before her surprise resignation pinning the cost at $296,000. Two thirds of that was for Troopergate in which she was found to have violated the state ethics rules and the next biggest lawsuit pricetag went to her putting her kids onto the state’s tab when flying them around. Palin settled that one when she reimbursed the state for ~$3,000. So it was not only far less than her claims but it was money legitimately and well spent.

Palin herself claimed that it was costing the state “millions” of dollars.

On the plus side, she’s unpopular enough in Alaska these days that she’d lose the state to Obama in an election so at least she spared the state her failed governorship.

Well, now I know who else’s political opinions to ignore.

I’m with you there, Jayjay. Lots of candidates in this thread.

How about taking your threadshitting to the Pit, boys.
