whew Luckily I found this thread when I did! I was able to catch all but the beginning of the intro sequence.
Is someone going to start a new thread, or should be discuss things as they go in this thread?

What’s up with the opening theme song?!
I was expecting some cool music like all the previous series and instead I hear some David Hasselhoff type crap!
What the hell!?
I’m in Los Angeles, so I still have to wait another 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Well, I was looking forward to watching this show, never really been a Trek fan, but wanted to see Scott Bakula. Plus, there’s just something about a prequel…
So I sit down and watch the last ten minutes of Moesha so I won’t miss anything, and lo and be-fricken-hold, it’s INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD!! what the hell!!! I looked all over the channels, looked up tvguide.com and nothing! Waco doesn’t get this show. That sucks. Maybe I’ll be able to catch it again sometime… Let me know what you think of the show.
CRappy crappy waco.
Excuse me? Are we back to the “can’t sleep tramp will kill me” thread? I think not
Yes, I’m planning on watching the show, even gave up a company event to do so.
Mind you, that wasn’t much of a sacrafice. I’m seriously contemplating leaving the company, they’re moving to new offices (with smaller cubes, lower walls, no lockable storage and where privacy will be a joke), and they want all of the employees to come to an after-hours event where they will show off the new offices. Having an “open mind” has been stated as a requirement. So, I’m staying home and watching what is pretty much the only show I’m looking forward to in the new season.
-JOhn (meow).
Yeah, I know…wasn’t it terrible? I started an online petition to change it, just for the hell of it. I doubt it’s worth the effort, but I just absolutely hated that opening theme song.
Here’s the petition: A Plea To Alter The Intro to “Enterprise”
I could have also done without the porn.
I know. Objectively, I agree. But DAMN that’s a sexy Vulcan.
Mmmmm yummy yummy Vulcan.
The lip thing was driving me crazy, though. Could she possibly have pouted any harder?
It was okay, but the theme music was possibly the worst I have ever heard.
I liked it. I thought it was better than a lot of Star Trek episodes out there.
The quasi time-travel sequence I liked, especially since it’s Scott Bakula. (My friends and I havea theroy that Bakula wouldn’t do it unless there was time travel.)
Well, I don’t want to give away any more spoilers, so with that said, I’m off…
(p.s., I liked the porn scene, but then, I am a teenage male:D)
I liked it but did they have to have a “temporal” element in the very first episode? Are the Borg or Q gonna show up in a few weeks?
I think Gary Graham aka Matthew Sikes from the Alien Nation tv series was one of the Vulcans.
It was nice seeing James Cromwell reprising his Zefram Cochrane role too.
Yes indeedy!
Scott Bakula ::drool::
Porn scene  (but at least they had beef and cheesecake)
Other than the porn scene, I loved it.
I think I’ll watch Star Wars: A New Hope instead…
I might watch it. Who knows, there’s the off-chance it will be good…
It was the first full Star Trek episode I had ever seen. I liked it… I’m planning on watching the rest of the season, if I can.
And the porn scene? Kinda gratuitous, but I like sexual tension.
Exactly! I mean, if they’re gonna show porn, at least get the right guy doing it. Sheesh.
Opinions:
Mediocre, but not bad for a first episode. I think all of the first episodes sucked.
Damn sexy Vulcan. Although I wouldn’t call it “porn”, it was pretty gratuitous. The Vulcan is damn sexy. I actually got a kick out of how the camera breifly focused on her little belly and tits when they were rubbing oil. Showed her nipples sticking out pretty obviously too.
Other than that, is it just me or did the Vulcan (T’pau?) not seem very, uh, Vulcany?
My wife said during the “scene” Tucker appeared to have a hard on. Can’t say I noticed it.
So any guesses on who the bad guys from the future are?
Other things to note:
I found it odd the Enterprise was capable of entering the atmosphere of the planet.
Whats with the uniforms?
What was the Dr? A Cardassian?
Not much of a Star Trek person here. Mrs. Bluepony is a big sci-fi/fantasy fan. I’ve watched a lot of Star Trek TV shows and movies with her, but I’m really mentally deficient in grasping basic sci-fi concepts, and even less at remembering all of the Star Trek history or trivia.
Since I couldn’t get the Braves game on TV today, Enterprise was the main feature on the family TV. Mrs. Bluepony put up with the first five stupid “What’s that mean?” or “Is this guy a Vulcan too?” type of questions before I was told to shut up and wait for explanations during the commercial.
I didn’t understand if this was the first time we met the Klingons. I wasn’t quite sure, and I hesitated to pester the wife anymore. I thought the “Rubdown a Vulcan Chick” scene was way cool. BTW, she’s featured in the latest issue of Maxim.
I thought the beginning credits were great. I think the “Space, the final frontier”-type of intro with whooshing starships and exploding stars kinda got old.
I got lost on the time travel part and who those guys were that had rubber faces. All in all, a pretty good 2-hour diversion. I recommend more gratuitous space violence, exploding starships, full alien body rubdowns, and more glimpses of interstellar nudie bars.
I thought the “look”, including the uniforms, the bridge design, etc to be a nice midpoint between current styles and the look of TOS. Like you can see from this how the styles from TOS evolved from current styles.
The vulcan looks more elf than vulcan to me.
I’d give it a mixed review. Man, seems like even highly evolved super intelligent mutants still fall for the ol’ throw a small object to make a noise, then charge when enemy looks in that direction. And Star Trek wouldn’t be Star Trek if you’re looking for someone on an entire planet and you luckily pick the right continent, the right city, the right neighborhood when you first beam down!! Having lyrics in a Star Trek theme was a shock, and the rub-down scene was completely contrived–decontamination procedure indeed–at least Kirk wanted to make out with the space babes! And as bafaa pointed out the writers are becoming too dependent on time travel/temporal stuff. But I’ll be watching…
