I had the same idea, sort of, but a little more prosaic approach. Nanobots that manufacture itch powder. Irritation is probably just as effective as hate, because it’s more subliminal.
I agree that the paths of Hate are foolish, but we apparently get a lot of entertainment value out of them nevertheless. Alas.
