In a more serious note, I believe there is research that shows that smoking can help prevent or delay the onset of Parkinson’s.
The stimulant, nicotine, keeps the neurons working, helps them set up deeper “roots,” which survive longer. Something like that?
Unless you meant weed, of course, which should never be used to ward off Alzheimer’s but which should be used to ward off its ill symptoms.
So ya’ll remind me when I get old that I said this…

Say there, sonny boy! Smoking makes you a man! Only men who are a little light in their loafers don’t smoke, if you know what I mean. Also, doctors say it soothes your “T”-Zone! Don’t be a wise guy! Light up!

Should you ever wish to commit impromptu arson, you’ll probably have the means to start the fire on your person.
Or, if you’ve seen Stalag 17, you’ll always have a handy timer for setting off explosives after you’re long gone.
Get out of bed? Dad smoked his first cig of the day in bed - before going to pee. Mom never understood it.
Smoking doesn’t always kill you young. Both my father and grandfather lived many years with emphysema after smoking for most of their lives. Dad lived to 78 and Grandpa was probably in his early 80’s. But they had to take special breathing treatments for the last several years of their life and grandpa was on oxygen, too.
So your friend could still outlive you and maybe he’ll accidentally roll his oxygen cart into you at the top of the stairs or as a bus is passing to thank you for subjecting him to that misery.
