Some little girls' lies get a homeless man 8 months in jail

What the hell are you saying? That they should be assaulted and molested as punishment “once they become of legal age”? Please clarify your position.

I’ve gotten flamed many times for calling people out on their glee that child molesters “get what’s coming to them” in prison. Innocent people get convicted occasionally. Our justice system is not perfect. That is why we shouldn’t tolerate vigilante justice among prison populations. It rarely is justice, anyway. It’s just another form of the law of the jungle.

That’s horrible! Lying about having suffered rape/abuse is basically like being an accomplice to rapists and abusers, since you’re hurting the credibility of the real survivors.
Sadly, even if the girls did get punished for this, I doubt they would learn that lying was wrong. They’d probably just learn that it was wrong to ADMIT to the lie.
After all, if the girl hadn’t admitted it was a lie, we’d all still be thinking he was a horrible molestor and the girls would just continue on their merry way.
I just hope the poor guy will be able to get some kind of compensation and be able to get off the streets!

I believe that any 11 year old girl would never give a second thought to being punished by anyone other than a teacher or parent. I doubt they would ever dream of being thrown in jail or be given community service, they most likely believed prison was for “Bad men” not little girls. It may of given them a feeling of invincibility, not to mention a feeling of superiority and disregard over the homeless man they accused.

Oh, yes they do.

My mom used to work for CAS, and she hated sorting through all the false allegations by kids who were old enough to know “how to get an adult in big trouble.”

It’s a catch-22. It is vitally important for kids to know their rights and know they can get help, but the downside is that a kid who’s pissed at an “F” on his/her home-ec project can watch the teacher get led away in handcuffs.

My mom has had to investigate several false claims from kids who definitely knew the cops were going to come and take someone to jail. My mom hated those cases because they were always so difficult and often ruinous for the innocent adult. Plus, it took time and resources away from the investigation of legitimate abuse and real molestation claims.

Just WHAT are you implying here? Make it good, and make it quick.
