I have spent some time working with the public, and while bitchy old women are bad, so are bitchy old men. Really, mean people suck, no matter what age, race, sex, or whatever.

I seem to be having less tolerance too. I think it is because I’m sick and tired of seeing and hearing AND HAVING TO FIX the same stupid shit for so many years - over and over and over again. Over time, you just get sick of it.
Well, I find the lack of any more fucks to give to be incredibly freeing, and I’m much mellower now than I used to be. You can call me a bitch if you want to; I’ll just laugh at you.

Where did you get that idea? On the contrary, what the self-described old or future-old white Doper women here are saying is that their old white femaleness (and possible perceived bitchiness) doesn’t entail racism or sexism.
Moreover, we have to consider that the OP may not be entirely impartial in his assessment of comparative dreadfulness. It might be that, among the various bitchy racist white people he meets, the male ones are automatically somewhat respected because male and the young female ones are condoned because bangability.
But the old female ones don’t have either of those excuses, so their bitchy racism and sexism naturally seems to be the dreadfulest.

Old black women didn’t live half their life with the whole world opening doors for them. So they never develop that sense of entitlement and privilege that old white women may have developed only to have the privilege slowly stripped away as they become old and bitter. So old black women are just black women, but older.
Am I generalizing, yes. But, I don’t think third wave feminism attracts the same sort of narcissism that second wave feminism attracted but if it did and 3rd wave feminism black women spent the first half of their life with the whole world opening doors for them just because they were black women, only to lose this advantage as they grew older, I might be saying the same thing about bitter old black women.
Generally speaking the old white woman phenomenon transcends partisan divides. Plenty of entitled bitchy old liberal women out there too, they’re not all conservatives.
You don’t need to be rich but you do need to be at least moderately attractive in your youth and come from a pretty homogenous part of the country.
50’s are a little young for what I’m thinking. ISTM a second wave feminist is going to be at least in her mid 60’s by now, probably older.
I have heard similar complaints about a streak of misogyny among gay men.

Well it doesn’t have to be suburbs, just an overwhelmingly white environment that doesn’t require a lot of interaction with a diverse population.

While women may value themselves for things besides their looks, society treats young white women differently because they are young white women. Its a pretty huge advantage until the youth goes away. And when that advantage goes away because they are no longer young and pretty, some women of a particular mindset get bitter and bitchy.
I’m glad old age is working out for you. That you can look back at your life with satisfaction that if nothing else, you have had a life worth living but I was not referencing all white women. Surely, you must have run into the bitter old white woman phenomenon in your travels. They are very protective of their prerogatives and entirely dismissive of others. They think they are just asking for fairness while others are asking for special treatment. They are not aging gracefully because they had very little grace to begin with. Just a culture that fawned over them because they were young white women.
It sounds like I may have hurt YOUR feewings. I didn’t mean to. The OP does not apply to all white women. It doesn’t even apply to all single second wave feminist old white women. But it does apply to some of them.
This observation is frequently the result of how I see old white women treat my wife. She didn’t grow up around these people so she didn’t live to see their transformation from SJWs to bitchy old white women.
Old white woman here. I grew up in Boston, in a melting pot neighborhood. The first time someone explained the word “prejudice” to me, I said “That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard.” My opinion has not changed since then.
When my manager asked me what I consider my best traits recently, I said “My intelligence. And memory.” He replied “I would have said tolerance.”

I don’t think I have a dysfunctional relationship with women generally. I have no problem with younger women or older minority women or even most older white women. But there is a brand of feminist old white women (probably in their early 70’s to 80’s) who are just fucking racist bitches and they think because they were feminists, that means they are progressive or something and they excuse themselves for their racism and bitchiness. They may think they are just being assertive or something (who the fuck know wtf they are thinking), but they are actually being raging bitches. If this applies to you then try to change. If not then it doesn’t apply to you.
A sense of humor probably precludes you from the category of women described in the OP.
