This is why you really need to stop and think before you post. Nothing you say here remotely addresses anything I said in the post you responded to.
Wanting someone to STFU because they clearly are refusing to listen is the one thing I said was not necessarily a bad thing. The problem is in wanting those who have problems to just calm down and stop talking about them. It’s expecting them to somehow be able to fix their own problems.
This shit has been used since activism itself started as a way to ignore the problems of those who are disadvantaged. It’s just an excuse to put these people down rather than actually try to fix the problem.
As for being sanctimonious, that was kinda the point, as I was responding to a sanctimonious post. You’re being just as sanctimonious in your response. I’m always giving what I get, but people act like I’m the one doing something worse.
And, because I do feel a bit sanctimonious, I’ll point out that I’ve only been here since 2008. If you’d taken a few seconds before posting whatever pops into your head, you could have made that snark a lot better.

I don’t know about the OP, but my only position here has been I’ve known a few old white women that were royal bitches (and rough guidelines as to why/what constiuttes such).
I think I’ve known a few people of every color, age, creed and gender who are “bitches” (although bitch usually only applies to women - so probably the more inclusive asshole fits).
I suspect their reasons for being such are as individual as they themselves are. For one thing - its quite possible that I’ve run into the assholes on days were they weren’t their usual non-asshole self - everyone I’ve ever known has days where they are particularly short with others.
So there is really no reason to single out old white women in this rant. If you are someone who thinks only white people can be racists, then the rant would probably be fine if it included white men and got rid of the age - since both white men and white women can be racist assholes
If you want to get bent out of shape with the idea that old white women ARE bitchy/more racist than any other group statistically speaking IMO that is something certainly debatable.
IF on the the other hand, if you want to say when there is someone bitchy and racist and they happen to be an old white woman they can take being bitchy and or racist to the NEXT level, I’d say that is something else (which IMO might even be true).
Well I doubt it’s because they’re “white”, so why does whitness have to be brought into it?
If anything it’s because that’s how a lot of the Baby Boomer generation, male and female were, spoiled, sheltered, selfish, entitled - probably a lot worse than millenials are even though they receive more blame.
But spoiled millennials learned it from their Baby Boomer parents; Baby Boomers got that way all on their own.
I think this is the core of the issue right here. Apparently the OP thinks that if a woman does anything other than say “yes Master”, she is being a bitch.

I really don’t think a boy in his twenties knows jack shit about the appeal of second wave feminism to feminists, and his opinions of our self-worth are not of much value to us either.
It has become an axiom that old white men are the worst. I find this troubling because I am slowly becoming an old white man. I worry that I will one day wake up and hate pretty much everybody.
Lets put it this way. Towards the end, I’d be in bathroom and get to think “thank gawd I’m safe in here”…heck, I probably went to the bathroom more than strictly necessary for that reason as well.
For a good while AFTER it was over, I’d wake up and be thinking “thank gawd there won’t be some bitching/fighting about something assinine today”
Even now, I’ll think “gawd, I really WOULD rather die poor and alone in some crappy shack in the woods than put up with that stuff in my last days”.
Don’t get me wrong. In no way was she always a bitch/bitchy/whatever you’d call it. I’d even imagine there are fair number of men that would trade her for their wife and think they got an improvement.
But I have a low tolerance for drama. Particularly stupid and totally uneccessary drama. Even on some sorts of TV shows/series.
I am NOT going to have a fight about something that IMO shouldn’t even be a discussion. I certainly ain’t going to be doing it for the 500th time. I’m not going to do something the way YOU want it done if I think its the wrong way to do it, especially if doing so makes it HARDER for me to it or it likely to not work out right and I’ll be the one doing it over/twice (and probably hearing extra unhelpful bitching when doing so).
I never understood the “yes dear” couple thingy. I sure as fuck do now.
And I suspect there is a class of women that think being a single man must be terrible…because being with a woman is automatically something desirable just because they have a vagina…and it is a defensive reaction…deep down they get mad at the very idea that maybe vaginas aren’t all that and some aren’t worth the aggravation.
