Okay, I’ll bite:
britneys = Britney Spears = ears?
dog = dog-and-bone = phone?
ginger = ginger beer = rear? (this is really a stretch)
Here are some you didn’t list:
trouble = trouble and strife = wife
loaf = loaf of bread = head
Okay I’m confused.
I was thinking you were asking for something like:
britneys = cock-tease
They rhyme, sort of.
Could you 'splain what you’re looking for; I think I’m mistaken.
:eek:
OneYogini it’s what rhymes with the unsaid part of a phrase. - Britney Spears - Ears. Plates of meat - feet.
It’s common for rhyming slang users to omit the second part, partly to save time and partly because it’s cool. Such as “Oi, dave, answer the dog, and get your plates over the frog to the shop”
ginger = queer. (not rear)
Clarky Caps anyone?
Crazy! Who knew! (Me for one, but I wonder if I’m in the minority?!?) lol! Hmm…learn something new everyday, I s’pose!
Wish I could play but I have no clue! Thanks for the info though!
I am assuming that it helps a lot to be English for this one…
If I remember correctly:
Daisy roots = boots
Frog ‘n’ Toad = road
Brahms & Lizst = pissed (drunk)
boat race = face
china plate = mate
rub-a-dub = pub
titfer tat = hat
pig’s ear = beer
jam jar = car
dickory dock = clock
currant bun = The Sun (newspaper)
whistle & flute = suit
Kate Karney = Army (also “barmy”, for crazy)
bird lime = time (as in prison time)
Bristol Cities = titties!
Holy shit! The Brits have stopped speaking English!
My wife and used to make up our own. Last summer we had to use fans as we had no AC.
So to turn off the fan I’d say “Hey Missus, would you whack off the Peter?”
Peter = Peter Pan = Fan
I always got a good chuckle out of that one.
I do remember in a movie once I saw someone say barney rubble = trouble… i had no clue what he meant. I still don’t. It’s not easy being american.
Two of my favs:
Thrupennies (thrupenny bits) = tits
Ruby (Ruby Murry) = curry
