Do YouTube channels count? I’ll nominate Prager University, described here on Rational Wiki:
Not a university at all, no degree programs or accreditation, it’s actually just a political opinion channel masquerading as educational.

Seems Legit. Made me hungry, though.
Heh, reminds me of the North American House Hippo. Google it, it’s funny.
The FAQ’s are priceless.
Q. What percentage of profit from tree octopus products sold on this site goes to support protecting the species?
A. None.
Tree octopuses don’t need your money. They need your love and willingness to write angry letters to the editor demanding action.
ETA: I was disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be any Tree Octopus merchandise being sold on the site. I want some. Let me go check Amazon.
Clicking that poster down the page opens up this.
Another example: (If the response is “Septimus just doesn’t know how to Google” I’ll let the Mods change the name of the thread.)
What was the() major hotel in Palo Alto in the early 1970’s? I’d ask in GQ but think the answer is so-well known that it should be solved here. Even I knew the() answer at one time, but have forgotten it.
Does it seem amazing that Wikipedia/Google don’t seem to answer this simple question easily? (* The hotel might have been only the 2nd best known of Palo Alto Hotels or such. I think it was on El Camino but might even have that wrong.
The Sheraton is a prominent Palo Alto hotel today and may be the one I’m thinking of, though it’s now under a new name. I’ve Googled “Palo Alto Sheraton old name” and “Palo Alto ‘1972’ largest hotel” and see nothing that triggers my memory. (I’ll recognize the name when it pops up. Maybe it will occur to me before I click Submit, but I’ll Submit anyway since …
… although I do want to be reminded of the name of the hotel, my main reason for posting is to complain about the lack and difficulty of information on the Internet. History is poorly preserved. Does one have to be an expert jockey at Archive.Org to find historical information—like this simple question about Palo Alto’s hotel—on the 'Net?
PS: Doing this search I see a Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto. Have there been changes in the nearly half-century I’ve been away?)

Sturgeon’s Law applies to the internet, as well as to everything else.
I would like to contribute a website that is just chock-full of wrongness.

Fascinating, but wrong wrong wrong.
These problems are entirely due to consumption of carbohydrates. Or maybe GMOs. But certainly not implants. Just ignore that tingling at the base of your skull.:smack:
I’m glad the author is focussed and succinctly homes right in on the matter.
ETA - I’ve always found the DSM - MMMMDCCCXII edition very handy.
Four thousand eight hundred twelve?
I assume the “DSM - MMMMDCCCXII” is sarcasm aimed at the American Psychiatric Association’s on-going need to add new diagnoses. Is there a specific code for Trump fatigue yet?
Meanwhile I still can’t remember the name of that well-known hotel in Palo Alto. (This trip down memory lane began when I wanted to figure out whether a major ACBL tournament was held there in 1972 or 1973 — I don’t know how to Google for old ACBL info either.)
Will I need to ask the simple hotel question in GQ? Surely the clever Googlers can find such info on-line easily. Or not?
Why do you expect people to identify some random hotel in Palo Alto in the 1970s?
It wasn’t a random hotel; I think it was the largest hotel in Palo Alto, a well-known convention center and meeting place. I still remember a special kiss at their bar and this whole side-show began when I wondered whether the kiss was in 1972 or 1973.
But even if no Palo Altans happen by, surely there’s a Google incantation that will turn it up! Or not … considering what huge troughs of information is available, it often surprises what’s missing.
I’d love to run a little experiment/lesson by going through a bookstore and seeding it with books full of fake information, and then getting children to do research in that bookstore. Of course the kids would, eventually, stumble on some of those books, and they may even work them into their reports, but that wouldn’t be the point of the test. The point of the test would be to see precisely how loudly the people who made the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus webpage would screech when they heard about my little experiment.
Eh. Just random thoughts.
