A lightbulb finally blinked on in my head and I remembered who Wiki is or was! {{{{{{{{{Wiki}}}}}}}}}
My blood pressure was sky high; they won’t do the cataract surgery with it that high, so my meds were upped and I have to go back next week to have the BP checked. In the mean time, I’ve gotta be as calm as ;possible.
Sorry to hear about the blood pressure issues, tarra. I’m sure it hasn’t been helped by having your Dad in the hospital. Hope the meds clear things up!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I thought it was supposed to be cooler today but the forecast is now sayin’ high near 80 Amurrkin. Yesterday it called for highs in the mid to upper 60s. Go figure!
Wiki have you ordered those airline tickets and gifts yet? No? Well, you just march right in there, young lady, and get busy! They’re not going to order themselves, you know! Don’t give me that look! Do you want your face to freeze like that? Now get in there and not a peep out of you until you’re done. The sooner you start the sooner you’ll be done! Now march!
Whew That lecturin’ is hard! I may need to go back to bed!
Yay for Hump Day! Only one more day tomorrow, and I’m outta here until the 29th.! I love getting ready for Thanksgiving. I gotta get my few fall decorations out, and clean the house real well.
Mmm - turkey and dressing and broccoli rice casserole and garlic smashed N.O.T. and giblet gravy and punkin pie and pecan pie… Yum!
Oh yeah! *::channeling Swampy:: * Get your butt in gear, little missy! Those boxes won’t pack themselves, will they? Your motivation will be how relieved you will be to finally be in Washington. We’re very happy for you!
Thanks for the info, Nava. I’m sort of wondering if I could get one to put on my desk at work because it’s the only place I sit for an extended period of time. If a desk lamp type works, that’d be perfect.
After the stress of the last week and a half, I’m taking this afternoon off. Just to bum around a bit. Thank goodness for PTO!
Well, dinner was interesting. Daughter got a phone call from a friend in Orlando - the one who took soon-to-be-ex in when he moved back there. She’s just thrown him out. Apparently while he had plenty of money to buy a car and go gaming and travel to NO for some con, he didn’t have any money to pay her for room and board. And she, who had been pretty much out of debt, now has $8K on her credit card because of him. She said her latest electric bill was $250…
So he’s gone back home to Mom. At 35. Still doing his slightly-more-than-minimum-wage part-time job. Sad. Really sad.
Daughter is happy because she’d hoped to visit this friend over Christmas but she didn’t want to see future-ex. Now she can visit in peace. And apparently all her friends saw this coming from the moment he proposed to her… Too bad no one said anything to her.
Anyway, that’s all the excitement in our household. rah.
Wow…we’re quiet this week. Guess it’s the lead-in to the holidays keeping everyone busy.
Hope the work stuff calms down, taxi. I don’t think I commented on the “start things on Sunday” item…has he considered asking for options on how to make the report work more smoothly? Sounds like no fun to deal with; glad you got to take a break today.
That’s an interesting report on soon-to-be-ex-SIL, FCM. Sad that he hasn’t learned how to be a grown-up at that age.
So…how much have you accomplished today in moving tasks, Wiki?
Trying to get motivated to do some clearing out in the basement.
Headed home tomorrow and I get to not get an a single plane for 2 whole weeks! 2 weeks of sleeping in my own bed! Yay! 2 weeks of seeing mr ems every single day! Yay!
I just got a phone call. A good friend and member/ fellow Vestry member of my church had a heart attack while eating at the good Mexican restaurant and died. I’m ummm… in shock. RIP Ron. Please send good thoughts and prayers to Sharon, his wife and Melissa and Kim his daughters.
Aww, Swampy! Your friend’s family is in my thoughts and prayers, as is the church family. So sorry for the loss you all are feeling.
The MMP has been kinda quiet for the past few weeks, actually, not sure why. Some of our regular posters haven’t been around much either. The holidays coming up may well have a lot to do with it; everyone is definitely busier at this time of year. I’m hoping some will just pop in and let us know how they’re doing, at least. We do think of y’all often, you know!
Thanks for the continued good thoughts; my Dad, it looks like, will head back to his apartment on Friday. And I’m going to have the nurse at work take my BP probably on Friday, hoping to bring down the numbers to an acceptable level so the cataract surgery can go forward on the 29th.
FCM, thank goodness he’s a -soon- to be ex! Total agreement with GT here, too bad he hasn’t learned how to be an adult yet. GT, you’re so amazing! What’s going on at the Park for Thanksgiving, btw? Are you doing a food drive, maybe? Taxi, sorry that you’ve had such a rough time at work recently. I’m keeping you in my thouights and praying that things will improve somehow, or that you’ll get a better offer, whichever works the best.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Y’all are the bestest! Heh. I woke up this mornin’ thinkin’, did I dream that? Sadly, no I didn’t. An email reminded me that it is real and Ron is gone from amongst us. He was only five years older than me, so it really, really hits home.
Today’s plans are to make up a buncha lasagna rollups for a dindin I’m plannin’ on Saturday but ya know, dependin’ on what funeral plans are (could be Saturday) I may call off the dindin thing. What to do… what to do… Course they do freeze well so there’s that.
I’m having one of those days where you sort’a wish you’d develop a fever already so you’d have a good excuse to stay home, bundled up in a blanket and drinking hot beverages. And to top it off, they’re doing Og knows what to our intrawebz servers, so access to anything is going on and off, and often burpy when it’s on. Blagh!
