Heidi E. Schmidt, 44, of the 4000 block of West Crystal Street in Chicago, appeared at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building Saturday where her bail was set by a Cook County judge.

Police said in a news release that they discovered through the course of their investigation that Schmidt was inside the stall at the time the incident occurred based on witness accounts and surveillance footage. The department received assistance during the investigation from the Cook County Bomb Squad. A plastic bottle, believed to be the source of the explosion upon initial examination, was recovered from the stall in addition to **“items that are commonly combined in a method to produce a chemical high, but during the mixture process can become volatile and explode,” **according to the release. Police said Schmidt was uninjured during the incident and left the area before police and fire departments arrived.

People seem to be really confused about this. Stupid people, I mean. I’ve already explained this once, but I’ll try again.

At the time I posted this thread, police were investigating whether a bomb in a Target bathroom was related to the ongoing right-wing bullshit about Target’s announcement that Transgender people were welcome to whatever bathroom they felt was appropriate.

That was the state of play when I wrote my OP. That’s what I was angry about.

Later, I updated saying that the police had a woman in custody and that they didn’t think it was related to the right-wing campaign against Target.

Since then, it’s been determined that it was a) not bomb, but a drug process and b) the perp was not a right-wing terrorist but a junkie. (Not mutually exclusive, I know).

I posted a third time, apologizing for spreading bad information but it was accurate when it was reported. I also pointed out that I didn’t even know that one could make meth in a handy portable bottle. I mean, it was reported that they had the bomb squad out and that it had been a small explosive device.

And I mean, it’s not like right-wing The reader’s digest version is that right-wing morons are pissy because I thought, based on the initial reported evidence, that right-wing morons bombed a Target bathroom because of their transgendered. Turns out it was just a junkie with a convenient travel-sized meth bottle.

I’ve already apologized once for spreading false info - although like I’ve said, it’s what was reported initially. Right wing morons are just easily confused, I suppose. Well, I mean, they are morons.

And, I mean, it’s not like right-wing morons haven’t been on a rampage in Target stores for months now. Aside from the random fire & brimstone preaching sessions, randomly harassing women who don’t look sufficiently feminine, and bomb threats that have been reported around the country, the idea that right-wing morons might decide to use an actual bomb is not far fetched.

If right-wing terrorists decided to actual bomb their “foes” - well, it wouldn’t be the first time, would it. If Right-Wing Morons don’t want to be associated with terroristm, they should a better job policing their own activities.

So when I read that police were investigating a bombing at a Target store and looking into conncetions with the latest right-wing moron movement - yeah. I got a little pissed off about. Deal.
