Stupid bathroom incident of the day.

Since it’s happening on a daily basis, I think this thread might become full of incidents.

First up:

A woman in Connecticut who had just cut her hair for charity was told she was disgusting for going into a women’s bathroom in Walmart.

Couple of weeks ago.
Man follows woman into restroom after mistaking her for a man

I attended a show at the Mobile (Alabama) Civic Center some years ago. The Mobile Civic Center has parts that are relatively modern and parts that date back to the 1940s/1950s.

When my lizard did bespeak of the need to drain I went in search of the restrooms. I found a ladies room door next to a water fountain which was next to another restroom door. I remembered from logic class something about how A or B/Not A/Then B and applied it to the restroom situation: Men or Womens/The First is Womens/Then the other must be Mens, and I went into the other restroom.
I was surprised at the lack of urinals, but it was obvious this was an older restroom (wooden stalls and tile that twixt them looked like where a gun had been left for Michael Corleone), so perhaps they were built before urinals became commonplace in Mobile. I went into one of the stalls, did my business, and came out to see a confused older lady looking at me. I started to say “Ladies is next door” but just said “Excuse me” and went outside.

I looked back at the door I had just come out of and it said… LADIES.

And the restroom next door to this restroom said LADIES.

There were two ladies rooms side by side. I’m guessing they were “separate but equal”. Remember what I said about when the old part of the Civic Center was built?

Diagonally down across the hall there were two identical mens rooms.

I’m sure I’m not the only person to have ever done this, but would be interested in learning how often it happens.

Dear World,

I’d like to stop hearing about bathrooms now, if that’s okay. No, really, that’s plenty.

TIA,
VT

Since the beginning of time, men and women have peed on the same bush. What’s the news here again?

I’m assuming that said man was promptly arrested and charged with being a sexual deviant, right?

I mean, otherwise, it’s just chaos with all sorts of cock-bearers wandering into women’s restrooms “just to check”.

I’ll bet that bush is damned tired of it.

No mention of police involvement.

Being in Chicago, I doubt I’ll witness this crap happening here. But if I do, you can bet if I’m there and some self-righteous blowhard follows anyone into a ladies room I’m occupying, will get a faceload of my pepper gel and he can explain himself to the cops. While we’re waiting, he can listen to me giving a piece of my mind about him being the perv. No matter who he thought he was following, he went into the ladies room! How am I supposed to believe that wasn’t a ruse in the first place?? I was already in there and he barged in on ME.

They were right next to each other? One term when I was in grad school in Louisiana I was officially faculty, so I got to use the faculty bathroom in the old Math Building which was clearly a redress of the old separate but unequal bathrooms. But it was quite far from the student bathroom.
I wonder if the two there were the same size.

As a parent of 3 daughters, they either went with me into the Gents until they were big enough to go by themselves in the Ladies. I was always within eyesight, earshot and about 3 feet from the door. Someone looking not appropriate for the Ladies would have had me politely saying my girls are in there.

I don’t get the paranoia.

Church Lady tearing it up in Target this weekend, complete with video:

They are going to WBC themselves right into the garbage bin.

Cuz one of them crossdressing queerosexuals might be in there, and their “before” picture had the other parts that the “after” picture lacks

This was in reference to China Guy’s question.

Your confusion results because this really has nothing whatsoever to do with “protecting the children”.

The secondary purpose is to ensure that those who are different should stay the hell out of public sight, where the bigoted might be offended by their very presence.

The primary purpose is to drive the rubes to the polls, in the hopes that they will reliably pull the “R” lever, despite the clown at the top of the ticket, and the other politicians who are screwing them over.

I see what you did there.

Yanno, her dress reminds me of the Church Lady’s colors & background pattern.
Isn’t that special.

Brilliant logic at work here.

“Err, I just barged into the Ladies’ room 'cause I was concerned there might be a man in here.”
“Well, there’s certainly a dick in here now.”

I’ve accidentally walked into the Ladies’ room a couple of times myself, due to sheer absent-mindedness. The first thing that makes you realise such a blunder is when you notice the lack of urinals.
(I imagine that in the US this will soon change so that the first thing that makes you realise your blunder is the body-tackle from the toilet police.)

She doesn’t look like a man, which IMO, hurts their case. If the R’s are going to send the crazies out to Target to yell and scream at females with short hair (or guys with long hair) I think they’re just going to have the opposite effect. It’s going to get the D’s off their asses. The sooner this gets passed, the sooner it’ll blow over. 20 years ago we had to hear about how if gay marriage were allowed, people would be marrying livestock. For all the youngsters out there (I know there’s not a lot of them here), people were actually saying and probably believing that.

It reminds me of something I read a few days ago. Another one of those ‘do you want THIS person in the bathroom with your kid…’. Someone posted a picture of Buck Angel and said something to the effect of “if these laws pass your son is going to have to go to the bathroom with people like this”. I was kind surprised that they didn’t see what it meant if they won that argument…these scary people like Buck Angel would be forced by law to share bathroom with their daughter. And someone like Buck Angel has exactly zero outward appearance of being female. Also, the person used the picture above, but if he was walking around in Target (and, ya know, not doing a photoshoot for the cover of a porn movie or one of his books, he’d look like this, let’s be fair, no one can use the bathroom at Target if they’re shirtless and smoking a cigar).

I looked at the article the OP posted, and her hair is long compared to how I used to keep mine. I honestly almost feel like getting my hair cut boy short again just to see what would happen now.

Short hair isn’t a gender thing IMO. Its a convenience thing or a style thing. Good gawd.

I wonder if Target (or anyone else that starts doing this) needs to keep some kind of security on hand. Not to enforce who uses which bathroom, but to deal with people picking fights over it. “Sir/Ma’am, if you have a problem with the bathroom that this customer chooses to use, you need to leave”
“Ma’am, you can’t film people in or around the bathroom”
“Sir, you can’t use that kind of language at Target”
or even
“Sure, I’d be happy to make sure no one else enters until you come out” (for anyone).

As of right now, we’ve only had a handful of issues and Target has about 1800 stores in the US. Probably not needed yet, but maybe something they should think about, especially if it becomes a bigger issue.

I’m assuming they’d say, well, of course, this person couldn’t use the ladies room with my daughters either! And when you ask where people like Buck are supposed to use the bathroom, then, they’d shrug and say, I don’t know, and that’s not my problem.
