Someone who will always have a special place in your heart

I know this board isn’t exactly known to be warm and fuzzy but… I am feeling chatty and want to share some MPS and want to hear about yours too.

So here is goes… I emailed an old friend recently, well an old boyfriend really but we have been friends longer and have a much stronger relationship as friends than we did as BF and GF (but give me a break - we were 16 when we dated!)

Fast forward - we are now 30. The last time we saw each other, we were 21 and over the years we have spoken by phone but lost contact a number of times.

So we have taken different paths in life, he lives in Toronto, I live in Edmonton. I have lived happily with whats-his-name for the last 4 years and Miles is a happily single

I love hearing from him and what he is doing.

Here are the emails that we exchanged recently.

Explainations - “Smiles” instead of “Miles” because he has a killer and smile and combined with his exceptional blue eyes, very disarming. “Say Anything” is the movie that we saw on our first date - very romantic. I though he had been living in Vancouver (Van) because he seems to bounce between Van and TO (Toronto ) and its Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend.
Hi Miles! Long time no talk, email me soon!
I miss talking to you! :o)
Tracey
Hi Smiles

In response to your questions - just relaxing for Thanksgiving. Might cook something. Still seeing what-his-name. We usually go to what-his-names Mom’s for turkey day, but dodged out of it this year. (his name is Jeff)

I look forward to hearing from you - are you still in Van? Hows it going? What are you doing for work?

Love Tracey :o)

I miss talking to you to.

I’m so glad you e-mailed me. Well, glad’s not the word for it.
I have to run to work right now but rest assured I’ll be in touch.
Let me know what your plans for Thanksgiving are, and if you’re
still seeing what’s-his-name.

      Love Miles

I always loved it when you called me Smiles.

You’re the only one I don’t mind.

Anyway, I know what’s-his-name’s name is XXXX. XXXX. XXXX. I can’t

believe you’re going to spend the rest of your life with a XXXX. Or

maybe I can.

No, I’m not still in Van, I’m in T.O.-you knew that.

Saw ‘Say Anything’ on the satellite the other day. Still love it.

Still love you.

{s}Miles

sigh kind of makes me melt…

So who out there still makes you melt after all these years and will always hold a special place in your heart?
