Something I don't understand about "teaching" creationism

Good for you BunnyGirl. I can’t say I was ever a bible literalist on creation but I was under a lot of pressre but the Baptists and an uncle who has always been a mentor of mine. I think I still have one of his Emmanuel Velikovsky books. Good luck with your husband. Maybe he can be enlightened too.

Thanks, all.

Poly, yeah, I was going to recommend that to him. I just bookmarked it yesterday. Only problem is our computer access is from work only and he’s usually too busy to surf, but never hurts to suggest!

tracer, yeah, I get what you mean, but she meant the “sci-fi” comment in the manner of “they never existed, it’s just archeaolgists trying to refute God” or some such.

Hubby was raised in a very strict, devoted fundamentalist home. Even more so than mine. His father is a big proponent of Chick tracts, if that gives you any clue. Not that I see the evolution/creationism debate as a big issue. I mean, he has opinions, I have opinions. Just because he doesn’t believe the same as I do doesn’t make him any less the wonderful man that he is.

Onward and upward!
