I remember quite vividly a song from probably the late 80s. I used to see the video on Much Music all the time (so, it’s quite possibly a very obscure Canadian artist). I don’t remember any sung lyrics, just a dark-haired guy with a mustache and a greasy comb-over going right up to the camera and saying : “I’m tired of being pushed around”. I also remember lots of horns (esp. trumpets). Anyone have any clue?
Well, “E” had a song called “I’ve been Pushed Around”
Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder?
I don’t remember the video but there was a Tom Petty song called “Won’t Back Down”
Well, it’s definitely not “Break my stride” or “Won’t back down” - much more obscure, I think. I think I vaguely remember “I’ve been pushed around” by E (although I can’t find any info on it) - if it’s the song I’m thinking of, that’s not it either. The video was quite humorous, the little greasy-haired guy would do a silly little dance with the trumpet players in the background, and looked funny when he came right up to the camera to say “I’m tired of being pushed around” - his head was all out of proportion (maybe a fish-eye or wide-angle lens). It was definitely played for the cheese factor and laughs. Also, I don’t think the song had any other lyrics.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Any other 30-something Canadians who used to watch Much Music have any idea what I’m talking about, or was it some surreal dream?
Moon Martin’s “Pushed Around”? Similar time frame and description of Moon.
“Tired of Being Pushed Around” was done by the “group” Two Men, a Drum Machine and a Trumpet. This was made up of David Steele and Andy Cox of Fine Young Cannibals, and was released in 1988. I can’t find the song in audio, but the video is available from YouTube.

And grats and welcome to FitzBubba! Good job! How in the world did you stumble across this site and this nearly 7 year old thread???
I know this is a zombie thread, but (A) the thread title made me think of that song too, except that (B) it’s actually “I’ve Been Kicked Around.”
