song little girl sings in Duracel commercial- "glory hole, glory hole?"

There’s a battery commercial that juxtaposes a young girl’s vocal recital with washed-up rockers Bon Jovi doing a concert. The punchline is that the battery the young girl relies on for her concert mic is the same that Bon Jovi relies on for their vocal mic.

What’s the song the little girl is singing? It has an operatic sound to it, and sounds like she’s singing “glory hole, glory hole.”

Anyone?

Kids grow up faster these days.

I have absolutely no idea, but I’m just glad I’m not the only one who misheard it like that…

I think it’s “Going Home”. And I’m glad there are dirtier minds than mine out there.

I just commented on that myself the other day.

If memory serves me right, “Going Home” is from the New World Symphony by somebody…Dvorak?

Sounds like the 2nd movement of Dvorak’s New World Symphony… in other words, I’m with mobo85.

Y’know, you guys need to cut down on the porn websites…

But “Gloryhole, gloryhole” would make one rockin’ school talent show standard

That’s what I always thought it sounded like. Hehehe…glad I’m not the only perv around here.

Here are some of the lyrics:

A search turned up cites that say this was a spiritual that Dvorak borrowed. However, on my Paul Robeson CD, it’s credited to Dvorak. None of that’s authoritative, of course.

Disclaimer: I have never seen the commercial, and I have no idea what the correct answer is.

The first thing that comes to mind upon hearing it sounds like “glory hole” is “gloria.” Could that be it? It’s a pretty common thing to sing… (I can hear Jason Robert Brown’s “Christmas Lullaby” in my head now.)

It’s definitely the Dvorak, and it’s definitely “going home” that the child is singing. Oy.
