Song lyric question

There is a song that was done in the late 60’s or early 70’s. Motown type. The only line I remember is “With this ring I promise I’ll always love you, always love you.”

Ring a bell with anyone. I really need to get this out of my head.

All you have to do with song lyrics is enter a line into the window at Google. Then you get stuff like this: WITH THIS RING (Written by Luther Dixon / Richard Wylie / Anthony Hester) The Platters.

I’m not familiar with the song or when it was released. I am familiar with the Platters, but it was all ten years earlier than what you mentioned. I didn’t think they had any chart action that late.

Sorry, should have mentioned that I did the google search, found that cite, but it is not the song. It may have been by The Temptations or The Four Tops. It had that kind of sound. I don’t know of anything by The Platters that was that recent either.

I have found that radio station DJs are little gems of wonder.

Particularly oldie station DJs…whom actually care about the music they play.

Ask 'em. Sing it to 'em. They’ll know.
