When I attended Girl Scout Day Camp in the 1980s there was a song that only the older girls could sing. Apparently, it was too much of a musical challenge anyone under ten-years-old. Since that time, I have practiced the parts that I remember hearing of this song on a daily basis in hopes of finally growing up.
But, I actually never got it in the first place. The Big Girls would draw a triangle in the air while they sang. The lyrics sounded like, “Johnny, Johnny, well, well. Here we come singing and here we come calling and Johnny, Johnny, well.” Is this an exercise to teach musical timing, pitch, etc.? Is there anyone out there who was old enough to sing it and can explain?
I just thought I’d give this a Monday morning bump.
