I have a single line from an old country rock song bouncing in my head and I cant get it out or identify it. The only line I can remember is “she handed me a can of beer so cold it hurt my hand, four aces in the desert lord Ive found the promised land.”
I thought it was David Allan Coe, or Hank Junior or someone like that, but I cant find it.
Song was about a guy on the road and breaking down or hitchiking and getting picked up by a car with sexy woemen in it, handing him the beer.
*Caught a ride into South Dakota with two girls in a light blue Desoto.
One’s name was Jane, the other was plain but they both had racing motors.
Next I caught a ride with a gambler’s wife, she had a brand new lay down Rambler.
She parked on the side of town, she layed the Rambler down,
she said she sure couldn’t take it any lower.
Nothing about beer though. Blues Bros B Movie Box Car Blues
Nope…thats not it. The line in the song says “she handed me a can of beer so cold it hurtmy hand, four aces in the desert lord Ive found th epromised land.”
