Songs to listen during the act of baby-making

Kitaro. To make me even more mad.

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

“Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus, but only the imported EP. It’s a longer version of the song.

Authentic Celestial Music, by the Dirty Three.

Actually, the whole Dirty 3 catalogue works great.

Something you don’t want to listen to when doing the business is anything by Lydia Lunch - if you’re a guy you’ll end up tossed onto the floor and beaten up.

Ravel’s Bolero has always been the best, since it’s looong 11 minutes, and can be repeated indefinitely, since it has no crescendo. Plus, of course, it reminds me of Bo Derek in 10!

Actually, the song goes ‘Heaven beside you, Hell within’

Still appropriate, probably.

“Disintergration” is a great album for this purpose (the Cure).

Any early Van Morrison
“The Essential Ella Fitzgerald” for fun and kicks
PortisHead is interesting for all-nighters
Prince is usually a safe bet for one-nighters
Marvin Gaye
Beth Orton
Of course, Joni Mitchell

But I find that silence is often the most intense way to go.

Hey- nobody be dissin’ the circus peanuts!

I love them. I saw a man in front of me in line at Stop and Shop buying like- five bags of them. I knew he was one us-
those Special People who like the chemical compound that was a gift of Jesus- that would be Circus Peanuts.

Now that soundd awfully weird, but I couldn’t rightly call Circus Peanuts a food.

evilbeth is right.

But not about the Kenny G.

As for answering the OP, my vote would have to go for anything by Vincent Guaraldi- he’s the guy who composed and performed all the piano pieces for Charlie Brown cartoons.

Either that or Massive Attack- Mezzanine.

Damn it, somebody stole my pick!!!

The timing of ‘Inertia Creeps’ is not a coicidence is it?
Now… I’m just realizing how long its been since I’ve been laid… ::sulk::

muppetsoup - you right, you right. Perhaps I got carried away.

Well, let’s say I’m making out. I’d listen to anything by Smashing Pumpkins or Fiona Apple.

“Paralyzed” by the Cardigans
“Closer” by Nine Inch Nails
“Renaissance Affair” by Hooverphonic
Just cuddling…anything by Enya

If I was feeling particularly vicious, then anything by Rammstein! Oh yeah baby!

I just thought I’d add that I usually don’t listen to music when doing anything. I mean, what happens when you’re fucking and the tape/cd ends? Or what if a song comes up that neither of you care for?

“Oh sorry, baby, let me go change it to track 5…” and getting up right in the middle. That would ruin the mood.

Hey, if you’re looking for a quick one - I mean, not that I would know. Someone told me about it. Heh. Heh. ::shifty eyes:: - Try the theme from 2001. Can’t belive nobody mentioned that!

Romantic:
Enigma
Sade
Enya

Bangin’:
Prince’s Black Album

Hanh?!? The whole piece is a crescendo! It has no change in tempo (and that makes a piece [sub]take that as you will[/sub] a little more interesting), and is usually played way too fast. Trust me, the horn 1 is stuck on a high G on that infernal rhythm for four pages, single spaced. Other than that, it is a nice work.

Bo Derek, eh. I’ll take Brad Pitt.
ElusiveMiser, problem is, nobody listens after the first 30 seconds. The rest of the piece (R. Strauss’ ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’) is great. Add that to my list.

I’m partial to Pink Floyd’s “Great Gig In the Sky” from Dark Side of the Moon.

In a related story, my girlfriend and I heard a couple going at it next door and mischeiviously played “Summer Loving” by John Travolta & Olivia Newton John to disrupt it.

Apologies to anyone who would have otherwise cited “Summer Lovin” by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John to this thread.

I like anything by Nine Inch Nails. There’s just a certain energy to it that I love! I think Broken is a really good album, although the minute and a half pause is kind of annoying. Luckily, I have the album on tape (minus the pause), along with TDS, from back when I had a tapedeck in my car.

I also like anything sung by David Usher, but that’s mostly because my boyfriend tends to sing along to that, and that drives me C-R-A-Z-Y ([sub]in a good way, of course![/sub]).

Notice

I’ve taken the liberty of downloading nearly half of the music listed here so far. I’ll probably finish by this evening when I can download some more.

So, this weekend, my place, Orgy time! I get the bed and the controls to the fog machine. The rest of you are free to do as and who you please.

Who’s com… err… Who should I expect?

Now, what do I play first and who should I wink at? -wink wink-

Notice

That wasn’t *all[i/] suppose to be bold, but, it does seem kinda fitting.
