Songs to listen during the act of baby-making

My favourites are Moody Blues ‘Nights in White Satin’ and J.J. Cale’s ‘You Keep Me Hanging On’.

The Overture of 1812. The cannonfire is a nice effect.

It depends on the mood. If I’m going for the candlelight/romantic/mushy thing, I have to go with instrumental music. What the hell, I already admitted to eating things like Circus Peanuts and Easy Cheese–I might as well admit this too. My favorite has to be “Silhouette” by [sub]Kenny G.[/sub]

Anyway, when I’m not in that kind of mood, rather the opposite, I find that oddly enough, “Sweet Dreams” by Marilyn Manson works well.

I know, I know, I’m a complete freak.

Laugh and point, if you must.

Easy Cheese is good. I’m kinda fond of what little I’ve heard of Kenny G, too.

but you like Circus Peanuts.

and for this–I can never forgive you!

Well, if it’s just the Circus Peanuts that did you in, I guess I could give them up!

I hate Kenny G. If I could, I would stick his damn sax up his arse.

I also hate the fact that people think that we, french, are only able to make love with Je T’Aime Mon Non Plus playing in the background. Non.

But a guy that really pisses me off is Kitaro. That’s music to sooth even the hardest penis in the world.

Many people feel this way. Why exactly do you hate him? Is it the music or is it something more sinister I haven’t picked up on yet? I am truly curious about this phenomenon!

I hate Kenny G cause he’s BORING. He’s worse than Muzak. He’s the Jean-Michel Jarre of the sax world.

Okay, just wondered.

Billy Paul “Me & Mrs. Jones”
Marvin Gaye “Let’s Get it On”

“Nurture my pig” by The Reverend Horton Heat.

Pretty much anything from Massive Attack’s “Mezzanine” album.

Just about any early Van Morrison; “Kind of Blue”, Miles Davis.

Ralph Vaughan Williams
“Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis” - 16 minutes that just unfolds. multiple musical climaxes.
“The Lark Ascending” just very pretty and romantic

Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to Sade.

Turn up the bass, and man, you’ll be bouncing the brillo in no time. Mmmm. Sade.

This is a topic I’ve discussed before - and my choices really run the gamut.

“Shadowboxer” by Fiona Apple

Alice in Chains - “Would”, “Heaven Inside You” ::giggle::, “Man in a Box” ::double giggle::

“Today” and “Adore” by Smashing Pumpkins

“Sweetest Taboo” & “No Ordinary Love”, etc., etc., by Sade

“Brown Sugar” & “Cruisin’” by D’Angelo (I know Smokey Robinson did “Cruisin’” originally, but I think D’Angelo’s version is sexier)

…and my number one all-time favorite sex song: “Low” by Cracker.

But what music would you listen to while doing this?

Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
Kashmir - Led Zep
Libera Me - Verdi (Requiem)

Ride of the Valkeries - Wagner

Hey, what say we get together and “listen to some music” (is that what the kids are calling it nowadays?)?

Love “Kind of Blue”–that quintet was some of both Miles’s and Trane’s finest work.
