Songs you're loving right now

I don’t know the name of the song or the artist, but it goes,

And it breaks my har uh-uh-ar uh-uh-ar uh-uh uh-uh-uh-art
And it breaks my har uh-uh-ar uh-uh-ar uh-uh uh-uh-uh-art
It breaks my heart

Great single.

I’m still enjoying “Crazy Bitch” by Buckcherry every time I hear it. They’re playing around here soon.

I also like the new Chilli Peppers release with the “say-oh” and the “day-oh”. I’m not usually a fan of theirs, but they occasionally put together a nice meoldy over a funky beat.

“Odio”, by Revólver, included in their live CD Mestizo. The lyrics are alliterative but not repetitive and I like them; the music is… heck, I’m reasonably sure it’s some kind of US folksy thing… but I can’t identify it, so this leads to a sort of love-hate relationship with the song.

If any nice Doper feel like trying to figure out whether I’m completely wrong when I picture barns with a raised area from where an old fiddler, a banjoist and a guy with a harmonica direct a lot of dancers who look straight out of “Oklahoma” or “Seven Brides”, part of an older, slower, in-study version can be listened to here (scroll down and click on the megaphone at number 3 in the list)

That would be Regina Spektor’s “Fidelity”

-A-

Buckcherry - the one that says “I love the cocaine.” I don’t love the cocaine, but that song has energy.

Nickelback - Rockstar.

Stone Sour - Through Glass (don’t ask).

Winger - Seventeen (shuuuut up).

The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can’t Stop.

I recently downloaded “The Harsh Light Of Day” by Fastball, and am currently digging most of the songs on the album. Special mention to “Love Is Expensive And Free,” “Wind Me Up,” and “Dark Street.” Fastball is a very underrated band.

I have to say, my latest guilty pleasure is the new Fergie song, “Fergalicious”. I’m ashamed that I like it, but I know if I was in the club I would dance to it in a second.

Interesting that several people have mentioned Guitar Hero, 'cause I actually bought some songs from iTunes because I liked them in GH. I’ve been listening to them a lot lately.

“Symphony of Destruction,” Megadeth
“Infected,” Bad Religion
“Thunderkiss 65,” White Zombie

I’ve also been listening to “Slave” by The Evolutionaries, ever since falling in love with it during the Home Depot-esque scene with the insane machete-wielding Vietnam vet in the “Dead Rising” game. I like “Gone Guru” by Lifeseeker after hearing it in the same game (during the Leisure Park scenes with the convicts), but discovered after hearing the whole thing that I really just like the part they play in the game.

Those, and Weird Al’s latest CD. It’s disturbing me a little that I’ve had “Pancreas” running through my mind way too often the last couple of weeks.

“Hate me” by Blue October
“The black parade” by My Chemical Romance

Definitely not enough Country Music represented here.
Recently, my faves have been:
Before He Cheats-Carrie Underwood
The 8th of November-Big and Rich
Alyssa Lies-I don’t remember the guy’s name
Want To-Sugarland.

Agreed, we need some more country songs here.

Three currentish favorite (by ‘favorites’ I mean that, when they come on the radio, I perk up, “Ooh, I love this one!”

Life Ain’t Always Beautiful by Gary Allen

Some People Change by Montgomery Gentry

Georgia Rain by Triaha Yearwood

Let Down - Radiohead
I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab For Cutie. Yes, I R teh emo chick. Totally.
Through Glass - Stone Sour
Just - Radiohead

Paranoid Android - Radiohead - OK Computer

Good god. This thread recently reminded me of what an epic, complex, and beautiful song this really is.
Broken Box - Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze

Biting lyrics wrapped up nicely in a catchy MTV-friendly tune. Lots lots lots of fun here.
The Working Hour - Tears for Fears - Songs from the Big Chair

I’ve always loved this song, though i’ve been seeking this album out more recently. Best described as “quiet desperation” with the curse of informed introspection. Oddly appropriate in my current employment situation.

And I’ll echo the Red Rain sentiments made earlier in this thread. Seriously, that entire album takes me far away and I couldn’t imagine it starting any other way. Great great work.

Oh, and…

Must…

try…

to…

shuuuut…

up.
