Sons of Anarchy - Season 2 Thread

I can’t possibly wait till next season.

How many of you knew that the actor who plays Jax is British?

I enjoyed it thoroughly. Stahl is once again the pivotal factor in the finale with her mistake driving a whole coming season. She is either a great actress or sleeping with the producer or both.

Gemma on the lam. That’s going to be interesting. I suppose that she might have family that she can reconcile with and hide. There is going to be trouble when Gemma and Jax figure out how to deal with the problem.

I see a season 5 return of Zoebell out to get revenge.

Yup, damn woman leaves havoc in her wake like nobody’s business.

Definitely looks like we’ll be seeing Jax in Ireland!

I think I remember a conversation between Unser and Gemma where he said that she’d grown up in town, disappeared for a few years, then come back and become the Queen. Possibly she’ll end up wherever it was that she disappeared to before.

Yup. I watched a couple of seconds of some show he did in the UK and was quite underwhelmed. He’s improved since then, by great quantities.

Yeah, they really set things up here.

Stahl is going to get murdered. I think Jax is going to tear her apart when he finds out what happened. He’s not enlightened like Opie.

I expect next season to have a role reversal, Clay being the voice of reason and Jax being the wildman with murder in his heart.

Man, even today this show gets me right in the heart. What a damn fine show.

The scene with Winston telling his kid not to tell the cops anything was intense. Can you imagine keeping that secret? Knowing who murdered your Father and keeping it a secret? The show certainly won’t last that long, but I think the older brother will come for Jax in about ten years.

And damn Charlie Hunnam (who I knew was British) was believable. They get the best performances in this show. I really believed his anguish like I really believed Stahl’s terror when Opie had a gun to her head.

I think my favorite scene though was the look of open admiration on Gemma’s face when Stahl played her.

lip wobbles Half-Sack!? REALLY!? sniff

That was a great finale and incredibly well done. One thing did bother me though, Zobelle’s escape. I’m okay with him getting away but what the crap? The store was empty, would have taken a second to shoot the guy, could have told someone else to shoot him. Bah! I wish they would have gotten Jax’s call when there were still kids and people in the store and then it’s realistic to leave Zobelle for Able; as it stands it’s exceedingly poor writing from an otherwise excellent show.

I’m glad Tara didn’t get shot in the face. I’m sorry Gemma is crazy in the “motivated by God” way, that schtick gets old pretty fast even on a badass fox like Gemma. Tara’s commentary on the Gemma-crazy might make the whole plotline worth it though - “You hear what you’re saying…right?” LMAO

Stahl got punched in the box. Pardon me, the chest pains from my raucous laughter are interrupting my commentary. I really thought Eddie boy was gonna snatch that Glock outta her pants but instead he CUNT-PUNCHED HER. lovethisshowlovethisshowlovethisshow

So we all knew that Stahl was going to frame Gemma when Polly went down but the fingerprints trick was really clever. Stahl could have wiped her gun off and made the same accusations but getting Gemma to touch the gun not only firmed up her case, it prompted Gemma to leave town. Which produced this quote: “I’m on the lamb.” Again, serious situation and I couldn’t stop cackling.

It was totally awesome that we got to skip the protracted road battle/chase scene thanks to Unser Trucking and the SOA finally executing a good plan.

Let’s not forget Otto and the Case of the Missing Eye - none of this copping out with an eyepatch bullshit, we got full-on empty socket. What to do when you have people to shiv and 10% vision? Why, you hire an assistant of course! Brilliant! You have now finished Side 1.

Usually babies are safe but I really thought Able was going to get the axe, err, kitchen knife - that was bloody scary. I’m a little pissed at Tara for not grabbing the gun while Cameron was busy stabbing Half-Sack. sniff

Wow, just WOW. So Stahl and Cameron are our Season 3 villains, also, Jimmy O and Zobelle escaped their just deserts.

I’ve got a theory! [del]That it’s a demon, a dancing demon, no something isn’t right there.[/del]

Opening shot with the rats - were they eating a dead crow with a side of symbolism or was that just a dead bird?

If 'twas indeed a symbolic crow, then I have a slightly far-fetched theory. The crow was being eaten by three rats. Edmond was convinced to rat on Jimmy O, that’s one. Zobelle was ratting on the League to the Feds, two.

Who’s the third cheese-eating traitor-face?

I speculated earlier that even though Chibs told the club what Stahl was up to, he may have still signed with Stahl to protect the wife and kid. All signs point to ‘no’ since Stahl stopped talking to Chibs and focused on Edmond. Plus Chibs reached out to Fiona indicating that he didn’t believe WitPro was likely.

I did get a little suspicious when Opie kept volunteering to go with Jax and Chibs would say “me too.” Chibs has always been solidly in the Jax camp, I like him and I don’t want him to be a rat, but it’s possible that Stahl told Chibs to tail Jax that day.

Even if he isn’t working for Stahl, Chibs DID rat on Edmond so maybe he’s loyal to SAMCRO and still represents the third rat.

OTOH, the third rat could represent someone else entirely. Thoughts? Also, does someone have thoughts on the Hamlet parallel now that “Ophelia” didn’t die?

Chibbs is a rat. Once a rat, always a rat. And we know one lever. I’m glad they didn’t kill off Tara, and I hope that this isn’t a strict Hamlet allegory, as we know what happens at the end. However, Ron Pearlman has said that he believes it will stick very close to Hamlet.

Wonderful episode last night.

The only thing that disappointed me was that Weston didn’t get his ass kicked before Jax shot him. Maybe they figured the kid was punishment enough.

I was truly shocked with how the Stahl/Gemma/Polly situation arose and what happened with it. Stahl is one cold bitch and isn’t afraid to act it.

“And we know one lever.” What do you mean? Are you talking about Fiona and Kerrianne and implying that Stahl and Co. might have another hold on Chibs?

Sorry, I’m probably just slow today.

Yes, that’s it, you are not slow.

This show hasn’t ceased to amaze me yet. It just gets more and more intense. There were a couple of things I thought were a bit ridiculous about the episode, but they more than made up for it. I couldn’t predict what was going to happen and not everything I wanted to happen did, but that’s good. I thought the finale would leave me content for a while but now I’m dying to see how this boils down.

An interview with the show’s creator regarding the finale.

Warning: contains spoilers for next season.

Hm, sounds like all the other actors are holding out for a bigger salary. I guess they figured out that they have a winner on their hands.

Hopefully they don’t screw up our getting a third season. =\

The guy who plays Darby is set up for either way, so it seems to me that he wants more pay. He’s a fairly popular actor who gets a lot of work (Skinner on X Files). At this point they could have him dead, fled or waiting for trouble.

I did. He was in Judd Apatow-produced Undeclared, alongside Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel. That’s actually what led me to check out SoA- I recognized him when I saw the commercial on Hulu.

Doubt it.

God I love this show. I am glad it’s got a third season.

I don’t understand why Gemma went on the lam without calling Jax or Clay to tell them what happened? I can see why she used a pay phone, but why call the police chief? I can understand why she felt she had to kill Holly, she wanted to do her part to help her men, but the whole thing backfired.
I don’t want to read the interview, I don’t want next season spoiled.

That bitch Stahl has to die. I hope Opie kills her this time.

I love that Tara was rendered speechless by the crazy Irishman. That seems to be the realistic response to a crazy Irishman who wants to kill you. Tara is on the brink of becoming Gemma and it’s really up in the air as to which way she will go.

Do I see an execution of a certain Irish dude in her future? Or is the violence too much and she’s going to run away from Jax with Abel?
