I don’t think Opie is done and over the Donna thing. I don’t think Piney is either. Neither Piney nor Opie is very pleased with Jax for not doing anything and I think that is going to fester.
Stahl is going to give Opie a pass for the assualt, but she is reckless and obsessed. She’s not just the best actor on the show, she’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. After getting Donna killed, she offered to do the same for Chibbs.
When did Tig tell Opie this? I just rewatched the latest episode on Hulu because of this statement and I still didn’t see it. Was it on another episode?

I disagree that either Piney or Opie perceives Jax as having been doing nothing about the Donna thing. The entire reason they look to him to change the club is because he is incredibly patient.
Piney is, almost certainly, not fully behind Jax on the patience thing. What Opie actually thinks remains to be revealed, I imagine.
Piney is Polonius and Opie Laertes.
We’ll see now that the power shift has happened though the previews kind of have me concerned.

That’s a damn good point! Stahl really hasn’t learned her lesson or changed her MO one whit, has she? I like having Chibs around so I don’t want him to go off the rails because Johnny offs his family. OTOH, how horribly angsty and interesting would it be to watch? 
Having taken a year or so break from this board, I haven’t posted to this thread before now. I love the show. I’m friends with some MC guys, which makes it more interesting talking over different aspects with them. Even though they aren’t one percenters they’ve seen things like patch overs and forced tatoo removal.
I was watching the season 1 finale on DVD a few days ago with the commentary turned on. It’s a horrible way to actually watch an episode, but some of it was interesting. The biggest thing was that Opie was originally supposed to die at the end of season 1, not his wife. They changed that up mid season after how much the Opie character grew on them and the impact the character seemed to have. Also, Piney wasn’t originally supposed to be Opie’s dad. That was written in after the actors had physical resemblance. It’s also pretty wild hearing Charlie Hunnam’s (Jax) British accent.
Man, I thought the rumble was gonna be bad, your commentary on Jets and Sharks made me giggle Chopper.
RogueRacer Interesting on the commentary. I’ve been wondering to see how it will diverge from Hamlet, that’s part of what makes it exciting actually. I think we are at a crossroads where it either goes Hamlet, or it doesn’t.

I actually was pleased with how the rumble turned out. I love that they have brought in Lem from ‘The Shield’, I fell in love with that actor on that show. As Sons of Anarchy is the successor to the Shield on FX’s line-up and filled the hole left by The Shield in a timely manner, it’s a nice little bonus.
I thought making a fort preparing for a siege was a little hokey. What happens if Stahl decides to harass them while they are all locked up bearing assault rifles in plain view? A fort in the middle of Charming simply isn’t a strategically sound idea.
It’s nice to see Stumpy back though. 
I loved seeing AJ take out the heroin operation, and Zobell using the heroin to get away from being killed was perfect. Though, I think he’s going to be put into the cell with AJ. I felt bad for the ‘slave labor’ as AJ put it. I even kind of had a bit of admiration for his white power ideals when he said, “The point wasn’t taking over cities, it was making sure color doesn’t gain power.”, I can have some sympathy for a tribalist and his views even if I don’t give a fuck about his tribe.
I love the way they used Straylight Run’s “Hands in the Sky.” At times I think the show uses too much music, but that was such a perfect hype up song. It came right after Tara assaulted her supervisor, which I don’t agree with, but I was oddly very satisfied with the moment.
The song was a nice concise way of saying “Samcro! Fuck Yea!”
The only disappointing thing about this episode was that all the Aryans didn’t get slaughtered.

Dunno, I think it was quite deserved. The lady was getting her fired for being a gangster, because gangsters are dangerous. If Tara is actually a gangster and is dangerous, than the lady got what she was asking for. If Tara wasn’t actually a gangster, then the lady was firing her for no reason.
Tara and the administrator are both bullies, but the admin drove Tara to it. Tara really did size her up just right. I’m waiting for the season finale.
I was out of town when the ep aired and my Dad told me “The most awesome thing that has ever happened on SOA happened in that episode, you HAVE to watch it.” He was referring to Tara giving the admin the beat-down. My jaw was dropped the whole time and then I laughed almost to the point of tears.
I know SOA isn’t realistic at all but it’s FUN! I really thought the Tara arc would play out in a predictable fashion. I assumed that she would go “Neo-Gemma” (still an awesome term Sage Rat) and then falter in the face of SAMCRO’s activities and bolt. I’m so glad I was wrong. Yeah, unrealistic but the realistic track would have been boring as fuck-all. Tara choking a bitch = Gold-Plated AWESOME.
Ooooh, mswas, I dig your predictions! I hope your spoiler-guess does not come to pass but I admit that it would make for good television. Good call about AJ and Zobelle ending up in a cell together, that’s a pretty great counter move after Zobelle’s drug brilliance.
I rather liked the fort. The guys on the roof w/ AK’s was ridiculous and everyone in my house was irritated. Aside from that though, seemed like a good plan. Zobelle and Co. are dangerous cats who’ve proven they’ll go after family, I’m glad SAMCRO actually took some precautions instead of constantly reacting.
So the “planned rumble” bit was actually okay. Still not up to par with the scheming I expect/hope for from Jax but at least he thought to have armed back up. Why did they do it inside Charming? Did they just assume that the Chief would handle the cops? Or is it all part of some larger plot? head scratch
I’m a little tweaked about the masturbator, I like Stumpy but why hasn’t he mentioned Darby? No bodies found means Darby got away and surly Stumpy knows that…right? I don’t want Darby to disappear into a plot hole but I don’t want him to sneak back and play some kind of pivotal roll because he’s a fucktard and boring.
I hope Lem is back next season and we get to find out about the bad blood between him and Tig.

That was one of the most intense episodes of television I have ever witnessed. And just as everyone had finally reconnected and gotten some healing, too. Good goddamn.
