Sons of Anarchy - Season 4 [Open Spoilers]

Is anyone else watching this season?

I think so far it’s been pretty good although I think Jax was being slightly optimistic about the Cartel partnership not ending up being trouble for SAMCRO.

Seriously Jax, it’s a fucking Cartel! Have you watched the news recently? Those guys are about as bad as they come.

I don’t see how Clay can survive this season let alone remain as President. He killed Piney and ordered a hit on Tara. That’s just what he’s done recently. He killed the Jax’s father and club President.

About that hit, does Clay even care about his grandchildren being in the car with Tara? Is he that much of a sociopath? I hope Jax and Opie do a number on the son of a bitch.

Poor Juice. I think in his shoes I would have just went to Jax when the cops/feds tried to blackmail me because my dad was black. If Juice had told SAMCRO about the investigation he would have eventually seen what the Feds had and they could have used Juice to feed Lincoln and Roosevelt (Heh I just know realized the Presidential last names) fake or misleading info.

Juice is dead meat, regardless. His only hope is to die in a gun battle before the truth comes out. Not the truth that his father was black, but that he was informing on his brothers, HE took the coke, and he shot a brother in the face when he was about to be caught.

You’re right. If had went to Jax when they first tried to squeeze him, he would have been OK and probably would have been able to stay with club.

Clay is a total sociopath, not just a violent thug. Bobby Elvis has finally seen how easily Clay lies and how good he is at it. And how the hell can any of them think that muling drugs is any different than dealing them?

He only shot that guy because he was shot while trying to flee. He tried to get away nonviolently first. But I see your point. I don’t see Juice making it either.

They’ll probably be down three members at the end of the season. Filthy Phil and Rat still won’t get patched in.

So when Gemma told Tara she didn’t know the details of JT’s death - she was lying, right?

She seems to have become less ruthless since those days, whereas Clay has clearly gone off the deep end.

I don’t know if she was or not.

I don’t think she was lying, but I do think she was telling the truth in the most strictest sense - as in the doesn’t know the *details, like time of death or who did it etc… - *which is pretty devious and misleading. She might know the broad strokes, she might not, but that’s not what she was asked. Very Jesuit of her.

Am I misremembering or didn’t “Juice” used to be “Happy”?

They’re surely ramping things up for this to be the final season. I thought I had read that they’ve been renewed for at least one more year. Am I confusing SOA with some other show, maybe?

I just watched the Netflix streaming versions of Seasons 1 and 2. S3 is available on DVD but not streaming, so I will be getting those disks soon.

The show is way better in rerun than I would have thought. I missed a lot of details first time through.

Sutter is a dude! This show is among my all-time favorites.

I figure Gemma and Wayne are going to do a number on Clay, but there may be a race once Jax gets some details. I don’t rule Opie out as part of the firing squad, either. In any case the 90-minute episode this next week ought to crackle!

Happy has a lot of smiley face tats. He’s not among the listed cast like Theo Rossi is.

See David Labrava - IMDb

Thanks. Makes more sense as an ironic name as Happy never smiles.

Good point! They usually assign Happy the task of “extracting confessions” and such.

On that IMDb page for Happy there’s some clues about the rest of this season, but I’m still trying to find what I remember about further seasons.

Those aren’t Clay’s grandkids, not really. Clay tried but he never managed to mold Jax in his own image, Jax will always be JT’s son.

I’m consistently surprised at the way Clay underestimates those around him. I would think he would have a lot more respect for how dangerous Gemma can be; kicking the shit out of her and then leaving her to her own devices seems a bit risky.

Clay always acts like he has a hold on Wayne which is laughable at this point. Wayne has cancer, loves Gemma, and he isn’t a LEO any more - what does he have to lose?

Bobby has sided with Jax so many times over the seasons, I can’t believe Clay thought breaking Jax’s confidence about leaving the club and offering up the presidency would really pull Bobby closer.

Last night’s episode was stunning. My mouth was agape almost the whole time. I love the way this show has it’s plot twists. It’s always something you never saw coming. Tara’s hand being damaged, now she can’t be a surgeon anymore. That one blew me away. Wow. Just wow.

I think next season is the last one. The typical FX formula = 5 seasons. Close the book, start a new show.

I hope next season is the last season and I say that as a diehard fan. Shows aren’t meant to go on forever and I’m always amazed by the quality of work produced on a planned, finite schedule.

Sutter says he wants the show to go on for seven seasons. He’ll probably get what he wants.

It is my understanding that everytime he kills someone he gets a new smiley face tattoo. I absolutely love it when they tell Happy to kill some one and he comes back with a simple “Oh yes I will!”

This season has be fantastic so far. At work, we are constantly debating on if it will be Jax or Opie who does Clay in. One guy up here is speculating that by the end of the season Clay will turn rat, get sent to Stockton again and Big Otto will do him in as he is one of the last “First 9” remaining. I don’t put much stock in this, but it would make for interesting viewing. Either way, Clay needs to go. There is no way he is going to live past this season, especially considering the beat down he threw on Gemma last night.

It would be some huge poetic justice if Otto gets to do Clay, since Sutter plays Otto and (as often as not) goes uncredited for the role!

If I were in that pool I’d have to go with Gemma, since Katey has Sutter’s ear at least some of the time.

But last night Gemma made a point of saying that Clay has to die by the hand of a Son…and for better or worse she’s and old lady, not a member. Granted, she has special privileges beyond most old ladies, but I expect it to be Jax and/or Opie who do him in.

Not in any kind of defense of Clay (who, IMO, is long overdue for some kind of terminal MC justice), but I don’t think he knew that Jax and the kids would be with her, as it was kind of a last-minute decision by Jax to turn it into a kind of family holiday.

Do y’all think that Alvarez just kicked off a war with the 1-9er’s for off-handedly shooting that 1-9er? Granted, Alavrez was po’d about losing his man from being shot w/o warning accidentally-on purpose by some jumpy 1-9er, but he and Clay should’ve known better that to run up 12-deep into 1-9er territory right after the near fiasco last week, and the 1-9er’s being right in the middle of some cartel war.

Good point that I had overlooked or forgotten. But the way that things tend to happen, especially after somebody “promises” something or says “that will never happen on my watch” or words to that effect, I would expect the actual final breaths of Clay to come at the hands of some character we least expect, or it will be a major surprise.

Who could such a character be? Chucky, maybe?
