Sons of Anarchy - Season 4 [Open Spoilers]

What is the significance of Gemma’s scar on the chest?

I think Bobby will flag his ass to prison and confess to Otto possibly derailing Otto’s rattery. I can see Bobby appearing to make it in the nick of time only to have Otto continue with the deal anyway.

Gemma’s scar is from the congenital heart problem shared by Jax, Abel, and Jax’s dead brother Thomas - The Family Flaw.

I have a completely superficial question - did something happen to Maggie Siff before this season? She (the actress) just looks SO different this season…

It was cool to see Chucky’s still around. I still expect something weird from him. Did anybody else sense a suicide possibility from Clay, now that even Tig is bailing on him?

If I didn’t know any better – and I don’t – I’d suspect Sutter of setting up as many red herrings as he can so that the cliff-hanger season finale will have us all spending the off-season writing their next season for them!

ETA: Only slightly off-topic: did anybody else see the promo for Justified? January!

I thought it was her hair. Before this season, she never had bangs and it’s gone a long way toward softening her severe features. In my humble opinion, of course.

On another note, the show had always been violent, but the first really visceral “OW” reaction I have had so far was when Tara’s had got slammed in the door.

What about poor Juice!? He hasn’t shown himself to be smart enough but he’s got a narrow window of opportunity here. He can tell the club what he told Chibs and explain that when he told Roosevelt to fuck off, he got pulled into the secret RICO room.

I think he could make a good case if he said, yeah, I said I’d cooperate so I could walk out of there and warn you guys.

I am almost speechless after last night. One of the best episodes of TV I have seen in a while, although I think I said that about a previous SOA episode.

Sutter is amazing. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Holy crap. I can’t see how this show survives this season - too many people will be dead.

 No shit. Perfect time to end the ep. I wanna know now what happens next!

I had no idea Opie was such a bad fucking shot.

And Otto…WTF? I hope he has something up his sleeve and didn’t really turn rat. I mean I still feel for the guy and everything he’s done for the club, but I really hope Sutter has a way out of this for the character.

All in all, this is a great season and I find myself just counting the days until the next week’s episode.

I agree with everything you say, but which shot of Ope’s are you meaning? The bike? Clay?

It would be a major disappointment if Bobby gets offed, but I could see Sutter putting him through some torture or maiming.

What I can’t wait for most is seeing how Linc Potter gets his. It will have to be almost as rewarding as seeing Stahl’s windshield and going, “YES!!”

This season makes up for S3 as I see it, and has moved SOA way up on my list of all-time favorite shows. Especially this year’s shows. I mean I have trouble naming #2 this year, unless it’s Justified which they’re promoting for a January return.

I was talking about him shooting Clay. He’s 7 feet away from him, hits him with 2 bullets, and neither one is a kill shot. C’mon Opie.

I was also afraid Jax was going to shoot Op. I was sweating the whole episode last night because I was afraid they were going to off Opie, and when I saw him shooting Clay, I was really afraid Jax was going to be the one to kill him.

Thanks for the follow-up. I thought Opie had killed Clay, but didn’t watch the previews for next week. So Clay’s still alive?

No need to see the previews. If you see where the blood squibs went off on Clay, shoulder and a gut shot way off to the side, you can see that he won’t be dead.

That gut shot could easily be fatal. Probably won’t be, but it could be.

Plus, Opie may want him to die slow.

C’mon Opie empty the magazine!

“He needs to die. Like, a lot.”

I knew Gemma was going to give those letters to Jax and not Clay. I was glad to see Tara had figured it out as well.

So is Romeo or whatever his name is - is he a double agent?

The pet store that was used in episode four of this season is right down the street from where I work. I went in there today and asked if they still had the rabbit that Tig was threatening to make hasenpfeffer out of. Thought it would make a cool conversation piece. Turns out it wasn’t one of their rabbits—the production company provided it. Surprisingly enough though, they all told me that nobody else had asked them that—I was the first.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I was kind of disappointed by last night’s season ender. I really, really, really wanted Clay to die. I saw Romeo being a rat as soon as he told Jax that Otto didn’t flip in the last episode. I hate that Juice walked away (so far) without being outted as a rat. I also hate to see Opie go. He was one of my favorites on the show.

I see a lot of potential for next season, but I thought that last night just didn’t live up to my expectations based on previous season finales for the show. The setups for next season with Jax leading the club and Clay being demoted to member status can be good. We’ve also got Otto ratting out the club who has to be dealt with. As I said, Opie didn’t show at church so he’s most likely walking away from the club. Bobby is in the pokey. Juice wasn’t outted as a rat (yet). Chibs is the new Sgt. and Tig was demoted. I can see more conflict between Tara and Gemma since Tara is the new queen. I was very surprised to see Tara stay. I figured she would take her opportunity and bolt from the club with the kids.

Al in all, I’d say the season was fucking great, but the finale just didn’t have the surprise twists that I had expected. I think Sutter expected everyone to be surprised by Romeo turning out to be a CIA mole, but it didn’t catch me off guard since, as I said, I had felt that was in the works since he lied about Otto turning.

What did you guys think about last night’s finale?
