Sopranos 3/28

Another solid episode. We got David Lee Roth at a poker game. AJ with shaved eyebrows and Feech got PUNKED.

Loved seeing AJ with his face superglued to the floor. What a little asshole he’s becoming. I mean, I was a lying, smart-mouthed, dope smoking little asshole too when I was that age but I never told my mom to fuck off. My dad would have put me through a wall. I notice AJ isn’t giving Tony any shit, though is he?

The Feech story seemed to end a little abruptly and I wonder if it’s really ended. It was brilliant the way they set him up, though. They dropped the bait and Feech’s own greed led him right into the trap.

Carmella’s little jape at Tony about his his friends just laugh at his jokes because they’re afraid of him seemed to hit a nerve.
And what about next week. Christopher is whacking somebody and the teaser was edited to make it look like it might be Ade, but would be amazed if the show killed her off that abruptly.

Speaking of Ade, I wonder what the deal was with that conversation she had with Silvio. Also, the Johnny Sack-Little Carmine feud took another step forward this week, I can’t wait for that to play itself out.

And like I said last week, not enough Steve Buscemi, I want more…

Slight hijack, what ever happened to A.J.'s rich blonde girlfriend? Last thing I remember was him trying to sleep with her in the episode where he found out where she lived. Did they break up? Just thought of it because of that little exchange between Tony and A.J. tonight.

Wow. So, 'splain to me…
First, at the end, am I assuming right that TONY took all the furniture from the house?
And, second…What happened with the robbery that was supposed to take place this week at the Bada Bing? Or was I hallucinating at the end of last episode?

Tony didn’t take any furniture it was just an empty foyer, not the main room. I think it was just an effect to show Carm’s new lonliness at being in the house alone.

I don’t remember anything about a robbery at the Bing but maybe they teased something about the Wedding job and you got mixed up?

I got the impression that something happens to Christopher. I don’t remember the exact exchange, but it was something to the effect of someone telling Ade something’s happened, and her sounding worried in response.
I’m probably way off, tho; I usually am.

I could be way off as well, but I also sort of got the idea that on the previews where they showed Christopher shooting someone (like 6 times), when they pulled the camera out, they somehow implied it was him getting shot. (On the other hand, I’ve always noticed that the previews tend to have nothing to do with what actually happens in the next episode. It’s more like eavsdropping on someone elses conversation and totally misunderstanding what they’re talking about.)

Maybe I misunderstood, but it sounded like when Ade came in, Feech was making comments about Ade not looking so good (‘back in the day, the women had legs up to here’). Christopher said nothing about it, but there was a look on his face. If Ade had overheard any of that, perhaps that was why Silvio spoke to her?

Oh, and we need more David Lee Roth in the show, especially if he gets whacked (it took me a few minutes to figure out that’s who it was).

David Lee Roth is looking quite ancient. My god… the hair! the hair!!

No one mentioned Lawrence Taylor, former NFL linebacker from the first poker scene.

My boyfriend almost wet himself seeing AJ with no eyebrows. I wanted to jump through the TV and smack that boy for telling Carmela to f-off.

I think maybe Christopher is starting to suspect something with Ade. Everyone, especially Ade and Christopher seemed very uncomfortable when she came in to bring Feech his drink during the meeting. Maybe he’s starting to realize that she’s sticking her nose in where it doesn’t belong just a little too much. It almost looked like Silvio gave Ade something, but I’m not sure what. He may have also just told her not to come back in because they were having an important meeting.
I think Tony’s actions concerning Feech could really come back to haunt him … Feech and Johnny Sack could cause a lot of problems for him. He could also turn and use that as a get out of jail free card.
AJ’s on a collision course. How long before he drops out of school? If I were Tony and Carm, I’d go to Christopher on this one. Christopher is young, cool, and has experience with drug addiction. I think AJ just might listen to him.
Again, another great episode.

The immediate visual I got of Tony giving Carmela a dutch oven was one of the best laughs ever.

AJ’s reaction to Tony’s ultimatum about the car was fantastic. I’m really enjoying–strange choice of words, perhaps–watching Tony and Carmela try to negotiate being parents while separated and going through their own emotional struggles. Edie Falco and James Gandolfini are, IMO, giving some incredible performances this season.

I literally could not stop laughing when Dr. Melfi was reading Tony’s letter. The guy was trying to pour out his feelings, and here she was correcting her spelling and grammar.
I laughed almost as hard when Tony saw AJ, with his eyebrows missing, magic marker still on his forehead despite obvious scrubbing, and a big pink spot on his cheek, and asked “What’s different about you?”

Definitely an excellent episode. The slow mo of Tony’s friends laughing at his cheesey joke was hilarious – Paulie’s pointing especially tickled me.

I was also curious about what Silvio told Ade. Considering Feech said something pretty rude to her – something about the kids coming out? – I thought maybe he was smooting ruffled feathers.

Gotta figure Tony B. (Buscemi) is going to break sometime soon. There is certainly resentment there towards Tony S., last night he was eyeing the Soprano house with some envy. Note he was in his work shirt during the card game, taking another “massage” insult for some additional humiliation. I had the impression that perhaps he and Feech would commiserate and take some covert action against Tony S., though I think the old man is out of the picture for good now. I’m still not sure how hardcore Tony B. was supposed to be before he went away.

Wonder if this announcement has anything to do with Ade’s future…??

There’s probably not an awful lot of overlap between fans of The Sopranos and fans of Rumpole of the Bailey, but I’m one, and I couldn’t help but notice that the way they set up Feech is suspiciously similar to what happens in Rumpole and the Age for Retirement. And for roughly the same reason.

Well, they need to do something with this character instead of just paying Buscemi to sit around doing nothing. At this point, it’s about as entertaining as watching concrete cure. The guy can light up dialog, if they’ll give him something interesting to say. Right now, he just looks bored with the gig.

I thought that might have been LT, but was that really David Lee Roth? Christ, I thought it was some over the hill porn star after the comment about writing off condoms.

Really? My GF and I were thinking that there was missing furniture too, although there was definitely a chair by the door.

Feech was just starting to grow on me too. It was a pretty slick way to get rid of him without killing him.

Don’t watch the show and I have literally never seen one second of a single episode (no HBO) but my mom just told me that both my hometown (Ringwood) and my old college (Trenton State, though it has changed names and the Sopranos didn’t pick that up) were mentioned this week. Is that true or is my mom delusional? Anyone know the context?

Remember Carmela reflecting back to AJ and his Big Wheel? We may just be seeing what she pictures when she looks in - Tony and Meadow gone, and AJ somewhat estranged. She may think she’s seeing her future in an empty house.

Tony is really soft on AJ - if not the biggest thing, lying about where he stayed the night ? And the rug was damaged after he pulled his face off the floor. That may come back.

Don’t count on Ade being whacked. They’ve worked around commitments for people before - Falco on Oz, Meadow (can’t remember her new name) for the Fleiss movie, Van Zandt touring. They say in the link they won’t conflict. Still, didn’t they say there was a big killing in ep #4 this year?

Jeevwoman - don’t recall the town, but AJ was getting advising on college choices - likely where T State was mentioned.
