Sopranos: 4/2 (Open Spoilers)

I always took that to be a reflexive respect thing. Never directly point at someone. By extending the pinky as well, the gesture is less threatening and rude.

So true, when Don Corleone gets shot, he drops the oranges he just picked out and they roll across the street. Of course when he dies, it is after scaring his little Grandson with the Orange slice in his mouth. Were there other scenes I am forgetting?

TONY: . . . And from here on out, every day is a gift!

JANICE: Yeah. I’ll get the car.
You would think Janice, given her history of spiritual seeking, would have reacted to that with a little more enthusiasm.

She manages to always be a self-centered bitch. In this case it did seem a little out of character though.

Sorry back to the Sopranos:

Paulie, will get by… of course if the kid goes to the cops as an earlier poster mentioned, that could make things tough for the family and then Paulie goes bye bye. Still, I think he’ll get by. The guy has screwed up enough times and gotten away with it.

Tony is unable to have peace in his life. There is no way he will sit still for the crap going around him.

I love how the “gangstas” come across to the real mob guys. Tony sits and listens in on the ginger crying and bawling , and later meets the guy posing as a bad ass and though he says nothing there is that look in Tony’s eyes that says the guy is full of it… He knows that the “street cred” these guys have is nothing.

Shot in the Ass… That was hilarious. There is no way that will help his carreer.
“Oh My god!” “What is it?” " I think I found Hoffa"

And Bob … too bad they coyuldn’t get Waters to play him it would have been perfect. Still the actor playing him had creepy eyes so it wasn’t bad casting. I hope he tries to show up again and gets one of Tony’s nasty lessons (Not death, just a demonstration of what he is capable of)

Still, when you consider all the places you might be shot . . . I think I’d choose “ass.” No vital organs, plenty of muscle mass and expendable fat, best chance of recovery without impairment. Even getting shot in the thigh might sever a tendon or, worse, the femoral artery.

Nah. In the gangsta community, he’ll be a laughingstock. “Dude, you got shot in your ass?!?!?!? Bwahahaha!”

So much for his street cred. He’ll probably get pissed at Bobby and come after him.

Exactly, that’s why she doesn’t get it and he does. Hesh is no fool.

Fat lotta good that will do you at the bottom of New York Harbor.

Which is why Tony keeps him around. I’d like to see more of Hesh, he’s an interesting character.

Maybe Bobby should have used his hunting rifle. The implication of being shot in the ass is that he was running away from the shooter. Not very gangsta.

One of the better lines in the ep was when Tony is sitting outside the gangsta’s hospital room, listening to the conversation. Somebody says to the musician “Getting shot will help restore your street cred, what with you having that job before.”

Did he tell you the good news?

The idea of “maloccio” (literally, evil eye) permeates Italian superstition. The hand sign
of extending your pinkie and index finger, while keeping the others folded back, is
supposed to ward off the evil spirit that someone has put on you. Wearing a tiny horn-
shaped charm (the corno) around your neck is another way to eliminate evil curses.

I keep forgetting to mention: Love the rapper DeLux telling his son, “Don’t make me come over there.” Even though he’s tethered to a hospital bed.

I agree. Carmela telling Tony to watch out for Vito was the most significant development in this episode. Carmela had never shown much interest in Tony’s well-being, in relation to her own. But after seeing what Ginny Sacs is going through and the Vito/Paulie payment reaction, she now understands that she’s part of both families and that she might need to help out from time to time. If Tony ever dies or gets incarcerated, her quality of life will drop severely (especially since she is quite materialistic).
