Vito Spoiler Alert:

Vito escapes to a “small New Hampshire town” to get away from the possible ramifications of being outed. I know this because the show filmed these scenes in my family’s town of Boonton, New Jersey back in the early fall. My aunt is the town clerk and helped the producers scout locations and get all the permissions needed with the police and zoning stuff.

I can verify this spoiler; it was all over the papers.

I didn’t like this episode and I have a number of reasons why not (feel free to talk me through them or point out what I am missing).

1. The New York family situation. We have absolute no set-up to Fankie Valli’s character having a legitimate claim on the NY family. When Carmine died it always seemed that Valli was simply a supporter or a valued advisor to little Carm. Suddenly he not only is a legitimate contender now but was two years ago? Makes no sense. They make it even worse by having Sack as Tony to kill him!

2. I have yet to see how Phil is giving Sack such problems. Phil seems to be doing what he needs to do.

3. Vito suddenly becoming a leatherman seemed a little odd. Wouldn’t he know that the club was subject to shakedown? Wouldn’t he try and be a little more discrete?

4. I’m tired of the redshirts. Anytime someone new is introduced to the show you just know something bad is going to happen to them. Let’s have something happen to an established character.

re: #3 - it was my take the club was in NY(C?) - maybe less of a chance of him being discovered? Also - the two “collectors” - were they not low-level guys? Vito may not have even known they were collectors there.

Is the Van Zandt girl another non-actress, like the woman who plays Ginny? She seemed rather awkward.

I believe Sil’s wife is played by Steven Van Zandt’s RL wife. I enjoyed this ep. Steve Buscemi directed it (did a pretty good job, too, the flow was great).

I agree with Stratocaster’s wife; considering the fact that Johnny Sack was ready to go to war over a comment made about his wife’s weight, it doesn’t seem out of character at all that he’d cry about being dragged off from his daughter’s wedding. He obviously dotes on his family.

I’m pretty sure that call from Vito to Sil at 3am was to make sure the guys that caught him in the leather bar didn’t leak the information to anyone, but it isn’t going to stay hidden long.

I feel bad for the people Uncle June is locked up with…

I thought the leatherman bit was a little much. I expected to see him sitting at the bar in his goombah wear and getting no play.
I think Vito is lamming it. He had a duffle bag with him at the hotel as well. If I see a duffle bag on this show, I always assume it’s got cash in it.

Meadow and Finn aren’t getting married. That seems clear now.

I liked the episode. I think it set up some good stuff.

Was the blood in Tony’s vomit normal for someone in his condition or is it something more?

That is his wife but the Daughter getting married, Allegra is also a Van Zandt with no Bio information.

To break from the Vito storyline, I’d like to speculate on where the Chris storyline is heading. They’ve set up from episode 1 with the FBI the terrorist angle. Chris is dealing with two men who David Chase has clearly identified as being Arabic. Now those two men want TEC-9s.

Because they know just how dumb Chris is? Maybe they were checking on the moles cover - if Chris had any misgivings, it would have been time to extract them.

I certainly don’t hold Christopher up as a paragon of intellect, but if those guys are actual terrorists, can he really be that thick? I suppose he can, but it all seems so scripted.

Credit cards, complete with 3 digit security codes (the numbers usually printed in the signature space that don’t appear on any receipts). Oh, and they brought some dates for Tony. They are trying to get in his good graces - the question is “Why?”
