I’m usually pretty patient with the “slow” episodes," but I’m starting to get a little antsy. Somebody needs to get whacked or chase a Russian through the woods already.
I guess we did see Vito murder a completely innocent civilian which serves as a reminder of who and what this guy really is. He’s also lazy. The idylic small town life is not for him. Johnny Cakes can do better anyway.
Johnny Sack pleads out. Didn’t see that coming. At least he didn’t flip but he’s lost all respect on the street.
Finn spends more time at his buddy’s apartment than he does with Meadow. He’d rather sleep on the floor than sleep with Meadow. Meadow is HOT. Maybe Finn is gay.
I can’t believe that Bobby got so badly punked by a bunch of kids. For all his physical size, he really is kind of a pussy deep inside. I have a feeling that Janice would have beat all their asses by herself.
I hope all this stuff is going somewhere. More violence, please.
A group of kids can be dangerous, especially when they’re seasoned street thugs. Kids grow up fast in the ghetto. 3 or more kids, with violent inclinations, certainly can pose a threat even to a big guy like Bobby.
I, for one, will be glad to never see another brokeback johnnycakes scene again. Fine to show that once or even twice. After a while, though, I get it. Yeah, they really love each other. They are physically involved. Enough, already.
I have to say I thought it was pretty funny when Johnny Cakes said he might be able to get ‘Vince’ a job in construction. I know he ‘worked’ in construction, he just didn’t explain that ‘working’ meant showing up on the job once a week to take an eight hour break. Hey, Paulie was working there too. OTOH I don’t think that town really needed a bookee.
Any takers on what was going on in the Bing when Silvio shooed away Tony. I’ve learned not to trust the previews on this show. They want you to think it has to do with Vito, but it’s probably something less meaningful. Maybe Chirssy came in hammered and did something stupid.
As for the kids, I’m not sure Bobby could have taken them on his own even if he wanted too. It was mentioned TWICE that the cops don’t even go down there at night anymore.
Somehow, someway this season has got to be moving towards Phil vs Tony.
I glad the Johnny cakes stuff is done. Why would even volunteer Fireman let anyone cut power lines without 10,000 volt gloves and boots?
Is Chris going to do something stupid over the car?
I’m a little surprised that they just left us with Vito driving home, although he’s probably minutes away by the final credits. (And he took off just after I said to my mother, “they’ve really taken a long time with this story, and I’m not sure it’s going anywhere.”) Even if they took too long with the whole New Hampshire detour, I thought they did a good job of making it all work in terms of the characters - you know why Vito liked it there, why it couldn’t work, etc etc etc. Now you have to think something dramatic will finally happen. The only thing that makes me happier than the impending drama is the fact that we won’t see Vito in flagrante delicto again. [At least he always had a shirt on.]
I was intrigued to see Tony really admit that yeah, he’s too hard on Janice and Bobby just because he can do it.
It seems it was either that or let the pastor die, and since no one else was going in after him, why not let the guy that they’ve only known for two weeks do it. Especially since AFATK, he’s an electrical contractor and knows what he’s doing.
Also those where most likely 240v lines, and I would guess the rubber grips on the cutters should be enough to insulate him, espsically if the ladder was fiberglass or had rubber endcaps.
As for Phil vs Tony, that might get interesting, or they might just let it go and we’ll never hear much about it anymore.
It’s possible to fall out of love with someone who once turned you on physically and not want to sleep beside them (or with them) anymore. If your relationship is falling apart, even the sexiest woman is no longer appealing. It doesn’t mean he’s gay.
That would be my guess, in the last few episodes they’ve been having some ‘political differences’ especially when it comes to ‘the family’ (ie she’ll defend some random muslim that’s getting picked on for no reason, but then she’ll, like Carmella, turn a blind eye on the family business).
I know. I meant that I expected we’d see him arrive at the house.
That was such a hackneyed, third-grade joke. Yeah, it was priceless.
Paulie really is an overgrown chlid, isn’t he? It struck me last week more than this week, but with his selfishness and pathetic neediness - is there a term for that? I don’t know of ‘sociopath’ is right.
It wasn’t a wise thing to force Johnny Sack to sell his house to Janice at half price and then for Janice to go through the house with Johnny’s wife there. His situation is humilating enough for him. That’s going come back to hurt Tony.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that in Meadow for a while now. Her own family isn’t being hypocrites, they’re following customs from The Old Country. Uh-huh. Now that Vito’s gone (kind of) Finn is probably trying to get out. I could have done with showing more of that rather than still more Brokeback Vito and Johnnycakes in Gayford, NH. Although it was nice to see Mafioso Vito break through, too.
Argent Towers, I also noticed and loved that transition. LOL!
OK, so Vito’s back in Jersey, and Phil has lost all fear of Johnny Sack and wants to kill one of Tony’s capos. Hmmmm.
Nah, Johnny Sack’s a spent force. It’s clear that, by admitting to the existence of La Cosa Nostra, he’s pretty much alienated himself from the family. It’ll be interesting to me what happens with New York. Does Phil just pick up the reigns permanently? Will Little Carmine get delusions of grandeur again?
Did Tony buy the house, or just set up the deal for Janice? She seemed to be over doing the crying if all he did was set up the deal? I haven’t worked out the math yet, (did we even hear the numbers, I don’t remember), but how much is Tony losing in finders fees to get Janice (and Bobby) to mive to New York?
I didn’t really pay attention to the money there, but it seemed like he se tup the deal. And I thought that house was right near Tony, not in New York.
