Just wanted to say I enjoyed the discussion of last week’s episode and I REALLY APPRECIATED NO MENTION OF PREVIEWS WAS MADE (IF THERE WERE, THEY WERE SPOILERED).
Can we keep that up?
This week. I’ll bet T will be spending a lot of time with Sil (and Melfi) tonight. Getting feedback on which way to go now.
I am curious about whether we will ever find out what happens to Tony Soprano, or if David Chase will just end this like any other season, leaving us wondering.
The DirecTV plot description for tonight mentions Meadow, so maybe the speculation is accurate, that each major character is getting some screen time, and resolution. Of a sort.
I’ve been looking forward to Sunday ever since The Sopranos came back, almost as much as I looked forward to Sunday for Deadwood.
So who was the guy who talked to Meadow in the restaurant? The other guy called him Coco, but I think that was a setup, so Tony would beat up the wrong guy.
the guy that came up and talked to Meadow was Coco. Tony got the right guy.
I think that this event displays the feeling the NY family has for NJ and that Tony’s personal family aren’t considered as being off limits. Doesn’t bode well for the remaining episodes.
Favorite line: Tony talking to Melfi about AJ.
“Maybe he’s just fucking stupid, there is a history”
No. I am on AJs side. I want him to get better, embrace social justice, rat out his family and move to El Salvador and feed hungry kids.
Uh, or something.
I am going to go on record saying Carmella is the biggest piece of shite on the show. What a self righteous bitch. She has buried her head to all of the ugliness she knows her family visits on others as long as she is kept in watches, couture, and Mercedes. When the chickens come home to roost she gets on a high horse?
I’m gonna spoiler it just to be on the safe side, but my guess for the ending is
Meadow will be the new boss. Not that we’ll see it, but Tony now knows AJ will never be strong enough to take over the reins. She’ll start stepping up to the plate.[ And as much as he doesn’t want his kids involved, she will be
Considering how upset Johnny Sack was about a joke that his wife didn’t even hear, how much worse is it that some guy gets crude and touches Tony’s daughter!?! And Phil insults him further by saying come on over and then won’t let him in!
Did Tony’s confession in front of all the guys cement Phil’s impression of Tony as weak?
And now he’s on a precipice at the crossroads!
Anybody else cringe when Tony stepped on Coco’s head? Glad we didn’t see that. Did Vogel see the tooth? He had a strange look on his face.
Tony has to envy A.J.
Melfi was different with Tony after what her therapist said about sociopaths conning their therapists.
I called that more than a year ago (the link is not spoilered), but I don’t think it will happen this late in the game. It would be too big of a turnaround, IMHO. It may be hinted at, though.
We may have basically seen the last of AJ, at least as a prime character. Just like Junior, they have found a story “parking place” for him. With only two episodes left, I don’t think we’ll ever see him on the street again.
I was really hoping we would get through this mini-season without Elliot making an appearance
Maybe Coco was just drunk, but it seemed crazy for him to harass her like that, and if Meadow had told her father everything he said, Tony would have killed him rather than just beating him up. Perhaps Phil made him do that, just to escalate things.
