A week to go before the final ep of the season. I didn’t get to see the previews… what did they hint at?
Has Chase commented on his reason why he decided to do 8 “bonus” episodes? Do you think that this last episode of the season will have alot of the elements of what he once intended to be the very last one?
I saw Carmella on Conan a week ago and she seemed to indicate that they had not been shot yet… although I could have misunderstood.
I would like to see that, actually. And Tony pretty much has to die. I can’t imagine another ending that would be satisfactory, though I guess that’s what writers are for.
Tony should not die of anything but old age. That would be such a cheap cop-out - he wouldn’t have to make any decisions about anything the writers have spent eight years building up - his life, morality, his family, the Feds, whatever. No way they’re going to do that, I’m sure they have something much better in store.
Also, I doubt AJ or Meadow will die. That would be too obvious - Godfather III already played that angle.
If you believe the rumors of a Sopranos movie, then Tony can’t die.
The Sopranos can’t exist without Tony. It would be like All in the Family without Archie.
Now, AJ is too dim a bulb to run the family, so if the cycle continues it will have to be Meadow. I don’t think fans of the show would miss AJ. Janice even less. Carmella could die, but not Tony.
As far as henchmen, Paulie, Sil, Christopher, Bobby… I say Chrissy bites it in this supposed “war”. Which I don’t see as much of one, based on size of families.
If Chase doesn’t take the movie deal, then Tony might die. There are only two ways out for Tony. Death or jail. Jail keeps him alive for a movie.
I wouldn’t be suprised to see Uncle Junior finally fade to oblivion tonight. He’s become completely marginalized and irrelavant to the story. And maybe Pauli or Sil. But they have to keep some of these around for the last 8 “bonus” (i.e. screw the public out of another season of HBO dvd’s) episodes.
