Do you know the name of the song that was played in this weeks SOPRANOS in virtually every scene in the strip club?
“Living on a Thin Line” by the Kinks. Cool song, hadn’t heard it in over a decade…
Blatant hijack:
Who do you think will be next to sleep with the fishes?
I have a few guesses in order of most likely IMO.
Ralphi
Arti Bucco
Johnny Sack
Meadows ex boyfriend
Response to blatent hijack:
I am privately hoping to see the episode where Tony wacks Dr. Melfi. Her voice grates on my nerves.
I have a feeling something about the guy who raped her will come up next week. Maybe he will get to take a nap. They have let that one go long enough.
I hope that Ralphi sticks around awhile. It is interesting to watch someone so unpredictible. He does deserve it though.
Ralphi was definitely being going down for the dirt nap by the end of the season, taking with him Jackie Junior is JJ decides to take sides with him against Tony.
Artie? Nah, I think Tony loves him too much and I think he will be smart enough to stay away from Adrianna in the future. On the other hand, what if Artie’s wife makes noise in the divorce trial about Artie’s mob ties? It could be Mrs. Artie sleeping with the fishies.
Johnny Sacs? I don’t see that, it would bring the wrath of the whole New York mob down on Tony. Of course, what if one of Tony’s enemies did it and made it look like Tony did it?
I don’t think Tony would kill Meadow’s ex because that would be taking his world too close to hers, but I wouldn’t be suprised if he got a good talking to.
Remember the capo (I think his name is Ray) in the first or second episode that was talking to his FBI handlers about his wire? That guy is going down. Also, the twin brother of the guy that Gigi whacked in the first episode of last season.
I keep expecting Robert Patrick/Davie to show up in protective custody testifying about the bust-out of his store.
Wouldn’t say I think he is going to DIE, but I would mark Christopher as the guy most likely to screw up and make a fatal mistake.
Oh, and Junior will die of cancer or a heart attack this season.
End of the hijack of a hijack
Silvio,
Nice post you have some good points.
I agree about Jackie Jr. & especially the guy with the wire as soon as he gets found out.
Also Next week Christopher has to start getting strip searched for a wire (I know he won’t have one) but it could lead to some interesting things.
Now that my hijacking has become obscene riddle me this
Isn’t Silvio going to expect to collect the $3,000.00 + lost income from Ralphi now that one of his girls is gone?
And you know even if Tony is the boss he’s not supposed to punch Ralphi in the stomach is he? Raising a hand against a “friend of ours” (maybe I better say a friend of theirs) is pretty harsh isn’t it?
I also expect this entire thread belongs in some other area.
I’d say it has to be Joey “Pants” Pantoliano, simply b/c he’s more or less “blessing” this show with his presence, and doesn’t really need to be in too many more episodes due to his celebrity.
And I think after Meadow finds out that her ex slept with her neurotic roommate, she’s going to f*ck him up herself, finally getting in touch with her Soprano temper.
I don’t know – he seems a lot like Richie.
I pray that Janice gets to sleep with the fishies. I was so happy when she went back to Seattle. Wouldn’t it be appropriate for her to end up with Richie?
Re: wearing concrete boots
> Ralphi
Gone. He disrespected the club, after all.
> Meadows ex boyfriend
Noah … am I the only one who’s creeped out by the guy? I mean, it seems as if every movement of his body is consciously, deliberately planned. Considering the sibilance and pitch of his voice matched with his body – I just have a feeling that Noah might be … baah, never mind. He just seems to move too carefully, and it’s creepy.
Spoiler
Ralph is dead. He’s the “young man” that Tony talks about at therapy at the end of the latest episode.
I was thinking the “young man” was the “young girl” that Ralphi killed.
Sort of like when Tony was referring to Dr. Melphi as he, him, this guy etc. Before Carmela knew she was a woman.
I agree with Waxteeth…I don’t think Ralphie will get killed without a larger set-up.
And Tony did commit a major breach in Mafia manners by putting his hands on Ralphie. No-one, not even the boss of the family, is suppossed to touch a made guy, unless you’re touching him to kill him. Of course, Ralphie made the first break in manners by killing one of Silvio’s girls.
Hijack-
I was wondering if anyone else noticed evey show this season has a theme. The last three episodes were:
-
problems in life if you are a woman
(violence against women) -
problems in life if you are a man
(supressed feeling leading to cancer) -
problems in life if you don’t stick to your own kind or own place. (the stripper and med/noah)
My gut feeling is that Melfi’s rapist will never be mentioned again. Life ain’t pretty, after all.
Ralphi? Dead, absolutely.
I’d be surprised if they really let Uncle Jun die of cancer. But then, this show is full of surprises.
I’m also waiting for Anthony Jr. to whack someone.
And I’m positive that the final episode, in whatever season they decide to end the series, will end with Tony getting whacked. It could end no other way.
No, Ralphie’s not dead yet. Tony was definitely referring to the stripper. I think Ralphie WILL end up getting clipped as he continues to cozy up to Johnny Sacs and Jackie Jr. Not for a while, though. How’s this for a scenario? Ralphie continues to attempt to draw Jackie Jr. into the life, and Jackie ends up getting killed. Tony would definitely take him out, as he promised Jackie Sr. that he would watch over the kid.
I think Beansy will be the next to be taken out, though, as his behavior gets more erratic.
I’ve been watching The Sopranos thanks to some weird screw-up whereby I’ve been getting free HBO (and free pay-per-view, and free Cinemax, etc.) since the weekend their season started. I did my civic duty and told the cable company, they’ve not bothered to fix it and aren’t billing me, so screw 'em.
Anyway.
Good point about the rapist, JET. Although, Carmella still thinks Malfi had “an accident” and has been asking politely about in the joint sessions, so I think it’s possible Malfi will snap at some point and Tony will find out what happened.
I’m not sure about the next to be whacked, but my money’s on Ralphie to get it by the end of the season, possibly as a finale sort of thing. I hate that guy-- rarely has a character infuriated me so. He’s unstable; witness his obsession with Gladiator… that stunt with the chain in the club, where he apparently blinded the bouncer… and of course beating Tracee to death.
Since this has been hijacked already, another question-- why didn’t anyone check Tracee for a pulse? Obviously the character’s dead, but I was surprised at the absence of that detail. I know she was covered with blood and all, and it’s not like they’d have rushed her to the E.R. if she was still breathing, but still, I wondered.
I had the same thought. How do they know she all the way dead. Then it occured to me that even if she was still clinging to life they can’t take her to the hospital. If she lived she would be a witness to her own attempted murder against the made guy ralphie. So if shes not quite dead she has to die anyway.
I’m sorry, but did anyone else read this and think of The Princess Bride? Hearing Billy Crystal say “She’s only ‘mostly’ dead.”
