Sour Patch Kids, Jesus, and me.

So I bought a couple of bags of Sour Patch Kids and the packaging has a little tiny cross adjacent to the word “Patch.”

I am a bit confused by what this might mean and no amount of googling helped me.

Not sure how this ended up in the wrong forum, my apologies.

Probably an indicator for a footnote somewhere else on the package.

That was one idea I had as well, but I was unable to locate any such footnote.

Looking at my bag of Sour Patch Kids, I see a footnote on the back:

“†Trademark, used under license.”

So yeah, it’s just a footnote.

Whooops I mean it’s just a footnote indicator. I believe it is called a “dagger.”

WRONG!

Remember “By their fruits you shall know them”. Ignore the ingredients listed on the back. The candy actually contains only two ingredients-a dusting of sugar, and human souls. That sour taste comes from the twisted hearts and dark minds of the damned. The Lord has condemned these sinners to an eternity of being chewed up, swallowed, shat out then being collected by demons at the sewage treatment plant and reprocessed into candy. Occasionally, one escapes. Sometimes, these souls genuinely seek absolution. Have you seen a tomato plant growing by a sewage treatment facility? Fools will dismiss these, saying that tomato seeds can survive a trip through a human digestive system. The truth is such plants harbor a damned soul who desperately hopes to shelter an animal in need, or bring a person joy with its fruit.

So the next time you eat SourPatch Kids remember, you’re feasting on the souls of the damned.
