I have been on the South Beach Diet Phase 1 for a week or so and am finding different guidelines about the amount of protein allowed. There is an Everyday Health pdf (of Phase 1 foods that says you should start with a total of 8 ounces of protein (including cheese) a day. But i can’t find anything in the book “The South Beach Diet Super Charged” that limits the amount of protein. What’s the straight dope? The new Southbeachdiet.com Website isn’t helpful at all - they are just trying to sell you the pre-made food (which is not surprising since NutriSystem bought SBD in 2015).
