Ok, kiddies, here’s the deal:

We’re moving from a grad student dump to a decent rental in about a month. After such time as we can get unpacked, we’d like to throw the kind of party that gets us Opal’s welcome on the street (see the pit, if you’re the kind to avoid that place). Any dopers near the Cola area interested in a big BBQ and beerfest that might last until all hours of the morning? Hell, even if you’re not near Columbia, I imagine that we can find a piece of floor for you.

The party will involve my cow-orkers, my wife’s cow-orkers, and anyone else who wants to bring beer and/or intoxicating beverages. The date will be somewhere near mid- to late-August. Email stofsky@msn.com if you are interested.

Well, I’m in the Columbia area. Unfortunately, I don’t think a beerfest is in my immediate future (go ahead, laugh at the minor). Sorry.

I know for a fact that there are more South Carolina dopers than two…I mean, ignorance is rampant here, but c’mon kiddies…

You’re right about the ignorance down there. It’s beyond even Cecil’s help.

Well you can just drop in on me anytime. I eat out a lot, most often at Outback and Texas Roadhouse on Two Notch, Longhorn and Sundance in the Vista, and the Keg on Rosewood, all of which have excellent cheese fries.
