So did anyone else get a kick out of those kids screaming in the cheesy filmstrip even though they saw the trains coming from literally a mile away. I was laughing my ass off.
Also had no idea cat breading was a real thing, until just now when I saw someone post about it on Facebook.
Not a bad season imho so far
Did anybody else think “Tebowing” was a reference to the Broncos signing Peyton Manning and figuratively throwing Tim Tebow under a train?
Also, I loved Butters’ shriek during the film strip.
Was there some reason why the “dragging your bare ass on the ground” was called a TaylorSwifting? I didn’t get that one.
I love that the Tebowing thing was a raggedy old filmstrip even though it’s really from just a few months ago. Ancient history for the internet!
Ditto with “FaithHilling”.
I loved this episode. It was classic South Park. But I feel like I need to watch it again with a wiki reference handy.
And the kids in it, with the 80s hair styles, even had iPhones.
SP has a long history of using celebrity names for weird stuff like that. Like the episode where Randy Marsh was trying to set a record for taking the largest dump, they quoted the mass of said excrement in “Courics.”
Well, everyone knows 1 couric equals approximately 2.5 pounds of excrement.
Yeah, I also loved the fact that instead of just taking two steps to the side, they instead do an about face and try to run further down the rail road tracks.
It’s been a poor season so far and this episode is one of their all time worst. The only remotely amusing thing was Butters and the gun. The rest just sat there.
How can you do an entire episode parodying Internet memes and be so unfunny?
Huh. I thought this season has been good, so far. The first three shows were as good as any of the episodes from South Park’s first few years. It seems like Parker and Stone have rediscovered the zaniness that made the show an initial success. This episode, with Cartman’s song and dance at the end actually made me laugh out loud for the first time in a long time. And it was good to see Grandpa Marsh in the previous episode. He’s been neglected for so long.
Randy: Well, Dad, it was really great seeing you. We’d love to stay for dinner, but the food here gives Sharon diarrhea.
Sharon: What?? Randy?!
Randy: [shushes her] Just trying to leave without being rude.
Marvin: Billy, that… that bolo tie you’re wearing?
Stan: Yeah.
Marvin: I don’t know where you got that, but it’s fucking gay as fuck.
Stan: Cool. I, I won’t wear it anymore.
Marvin: That’s a good idea.
This episode about killed me with its hilarity. I love Internet memes, and giggled madly with the cat-breading. Then came the batting cage Oh Long Johnson guy. I was like WTF? until they showed that damn moaning cat. Oh Jesus! I laughed until I started coughing and nearly passed the fuck out.
I thought it was a reference to this trend but apparently that was a lot longer ago than I thought.
