This episode is so great. I’m really glad Trey and Matt had the balls to make this episode. Hilarious.
One question. Where the hell is Lemmiwinks?
Otherwise, funny episode. Had a few good moments. South Park is still better though when they don’t try to be socially relevant.
Christ, no matter what they do people think it’s the best episode evah. I thought it was complete crap. Predictable, shallow, and unfunny.
They took uuurrr jobs
Dey dook uur juuubbs!!
Predictable? Seriously?
So I suppose when you saw the man from the future you thought “Oh he’s going to come and take people’s jobs”? Or when all the rednecks met to figure out how to fix the problem, you immediately said “gay orgy!”?
Once it was obvious that the whole scheme was to parody the way people treat immigrants, the rest was inevitable, like introducing the whole notion of purple goo so people would call them “goo backs.” The gay orgy was not especially predictable, but it wasn’t especially surprising, because they’ve so often resorted to quasi gay-bashing for gags when they can’t think of anything better.
Their disgust for (and superiority to) anyone with a political opinon has gotten SO tiresome.
That was gay bashing? I thought it was a poke at the “But we need children!” argument against homosexuality. Since we have, y’know, more than enough of them.
I gotta admit, “Take care of the future by having less kids” was my first thought, but the execution amused me.
That’s it! Back to the pile everyone!
Lemmiwinks will not be appearing in the first half of Season 8. Or the second half. Sorry.
Well, that’s it for SP until October.
DEP DURP DURP DURRRRP!
Time Rider kicked ASS!
My favorite bits were the not-so-subtle shots at upcoming movie ‘Day After Tomorrow’ … wherein global warming leads to a sudden ice age.
And what was with that whole “It takes millions of years to change the climate” thing? We were in a freakin’ ice age just 10,000 years ago! (And the whole ice age itself, the entire Pleistocene epoch, only lasted for one-and-a-half million years.)
Bah. Rednecks.
Well, I dunno about “we.” The 3rd world (particularly India) has more than enough of them, but in industrialized nations, the attempts to curb population growth have been so successfull that there are now too few children being born in those countries to sustain the population level. Particularly in Japan.
I saw it on Nova last week, so it must be true!
Damned poorly-timed Hawaiian gerbil tragedy.
DEY DOOT DAR DEEUUUUUUUUU!!!
Is Season 8 really over already? I have to say it’s been the best Season since Season 5. I’ve been very impressed.
I meant we as in the entire Earth. Even though the US doesn’t make a baby to replace every person that dies, the population still goes up due to immigration. </badly remembered fact completely lacking a cite>
I’ve been waiting years for them to make fun of Bill O’Reilly, and was SO horribly disappointed that they showed him in this episode but didn’t make fun of him (such an easy target too!). Didn’t even look or sound like airhead O’Reilly. What a letdown. I cannot imagine Matt and Trey are fans of O’Reilly, who constantly berated south park, especially when the SP movie came out a few years ago. Oreilly called it trash, garbage, etc.
At the very least they could have made fun of Oreilly’s M.O., that is, how he supports all his arguments (if you can call it “support”) by invoking “saving the children.”
Ugh, did I mention how much I hate Bill O’Reilly?
Anyway, that was a letdown, and the episode as a while, while it had a somewhat clever premise, went nowhere and was not all that funny. Worst episode of season 8 so far (the others having all been fairly good IMHO).
No, it isn’t. It’s only halfway through - the second half will be running from October.
