Of course!! Drop a reminder here the day before to increase the likelihood of my remembering. I’m a night owl and stay up late so I can get in a good session just hours before your torture appt…uh, interview.
Makes perfect sense to me. I have a cat named ‘Gruntle’ because when she was a kitten she made me the opposite of disgruntled.
There are a lot of whiny Pit threads currently. Mostly “everybody is sooooo mean to me just because I want to be a bigot.”
happy dance out here in flyover country!
My middle name til I was adopted. Not good for even a single piece of pie much less a dumpling or two. My people were rock-ribbed Maine Congregationalists and feast day celebrations were of the devil. Summer Bible camp was pretty grim too. The tablespoon of cod liver oil every morning was the deal breaker.
@purplehorseshoe, this is probably a stupid question, but maybe you’ll at least be amused. Last MMP, you mentioned culling rats as Pretzel’s near-future menu. If you give them to her live, are they likely to injure her trying to avoid being lunch?
I can’t speak to any companies that do paint, but FCD has painted a couple of motorcycles, and the secret seems to be the prep work. His opinion is that Maaco doesn’t do good prep. I’ve heard tales that they don’t do particularly good masking either, but no personal experience, FWIW.
It provides Vitamins A and D~so, in my childhood, I was told it helped build strong bones. Especially in the winter season when kids aren’t outside enough to get enough sunlight (although I’m not sure they knew that in the 1950s). My biological mom grew up in and out of an orphanage in a harsh climate in a Calvinistic era. Punishing care was all she got so it was all she knew how to give. Cod liver oil was the least of it, even so, I still gag when I think of it.
Too bad you’re all the way on the other side of the country. That Seca II that was stolen and then recovered spray painted needs to be painted. I have all of the primer and (special) paint, but I’ll have to have someone strip the frame.
… they could, eventually. “Regular” rats are WAY more likely, which is why this is a THING with live feeding, and makes your post the absolute opposite of a stupid question.
Not as an immediate battle, though - they never see it coming - but if one is left hungry to wander her tank, yes, eventually, all things must eat. Rats are carnivores.
And yes, I threw a live feeder with her last year, thought she’d eaten it, was very much mistaken, and wound up taking Pretz to the vet with bite wounds on her spine.
As in, you could SEE her spine.
Had to rub cream on her wounds, which was NBD, but medicating her with a pain med (had to be syringed down her throat) was a new and not-fun exercise in medicating critters.
But I have never once seen a rodent “fight back” rather, they climb ONTO her face sometimes, with absolutely no idea what threat she represents.
Sorry, flyboy - once he gets his new knees, the first item on his to-do list is to finish building the remote controlled mower do I don’t have to do the hill and ditches the hard way. He wouldn’t have time for your project…
What part of north central Indiana do you occasionally inhabit shady?
Yay for MrsMagill!
There are a lot of Ann, Anne, Anna, Ana and Annis in my family. Just not on the Polish side. My second name is Ann, I have a niece named Ana (she gets it from the Ukrainian side of her family) a great niece whose name is Rhiannan but goes by Anna, a great grandmother and one aunt who had Annis as a middle name and a lot of Ann as a middle / baptismal / confirmation name.
I survived my first day getting up with the chickens. I figured out that I can get 15 extra minutes of sleep, considering that the traffic is practically nil at 0400. I learned how to wipe data from several different makes of phones today and now need to work on speed. It will be a nice boring gig until I find something better.
Howdy Y’all! Da cave got spiffed, quality cee-mint time was had, nappage achieved, and sup cooked and et. All in all a good day. Have I mentioned lately how much I love bein’ a retired drain on society?
Magic yay for the great report for the Missus! Also, of course one must go wheeeeeeeee when ridin’ downhill on a bike!
Jasmine I can’t remember your nick cause both my brain cells won’t bump together right now, sheveled is a perfectly good word. It’s in the Mumper Dictionary which we make up as we go along.
Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
ok the whole Christmas in July thing started as a joke among a few indie tv stations in la. in the late 70s and early 80s … since the avg temperature is about 95-115 they thought it would be funny to run the old Xmas movies and specials in the 2nd or 3rd weekend of july
Well at some point some of the older radio dj’s like wkrth (aka k-earth 101 a rather infamous oldies station ) got the same idea then the for kids and other cable stations got involved and it spread cross county …
I seldom listened to KRTH. I was more of a KROQ guy. (Although I couldn’t resist The Swingin’ Years on KCRW or KPCC as I delivered The British Weekly and L.A. Rock Review. Now those were oldies!)
I’ve read everything, and I started quoting everything I wanted to respond to/comment on but it quickly became more than I can easily handle via the iPad tonight. That’s what I get for missing almost an entire day. {sigh}
Just when my toe finally healed enough for me to sleep through the night again, last night I was up twice (at 1am and again at 2pm) sick to my stomach. That is very unusual for me. I didn’t eat anything unusual yesterday, so I have no idea what caused the sudden gastro distress. The interrupted sleep didn’t bother me until the very end of the workday, when suddenly I was exhausted. I’ve been a pretty useless lump on my couch all evening. I’ll likely turn in right after I click “reply” on this post.
There was no rain in the forecast, but we had a brief storm (including thunder) at around 7pm. It’s now almost 9:30, and Bailey hasn’t left her “storm spot” in the bathroom yet — but that’s also the spot she likes to sleep in, so I think she just decided to be done for the night. It’s weird to be on the couch by myself…heh!
I’ll aim to be more social/interactive tomorrow…
My (Italian) mom’s middle name was “Ann,” and my confirmation name is Anne.
