I just found it amusing that when someone noted that part of the Southern high school graduation deficit is due to the higher proportion of blacks, it had to be immediately laid at the feet of Southern whites, who as usual are the target of all the bile here. Blacks are dragging down the average? Well, it just goes to prove that Southern whites are evil. To white liberals, blacks are just pawns in the game of life, so it’s acceptable to trot them out when you want to humiliate lower-class whites from your lofty moral perch. Then they go back to wherever it is they go, and the white liberals pat themselves on the back.

And part of the reason for the low deficit is that the white graduation rate in that group is lower than it is in any other, and in significant amounts compared to the North and Midwest, unlike the black education rate, which has differences of a few percent.
