Special Movie Trivia: Identify the movie from this scene description.

Okay, this thread is dying fast so let me throw out a few more:

NDP 9 - One man crushes a paper cup in an attempt to top another man who crushed a steel beer can.

NDP 10 - A man kills time by throwing a baseball against a wall.

NDP 11 - A man re-enacts a scene from a popular movie using a snack chip and a condiment.

NDP 12 - A woman sells clothes she just stole from a laundromat.

NDP 13 - A man complains that you don’t put ketchup on a hot dog.

NDP 14 - An apparently experienced actor suddenly panics before having to perform live.

NDP 15 - A man is amazed at the revelation that Liberace was gay.

The Great Escape

Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery

Spoonbender2 (Midnight Run) and Spoonbender3 (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) were answered correctly.

Jaws

Fight Club

Spoonbender4: A man bleeds to death while clutching a train schedule.
Spoonbender5: Two men discuss a trip to Australia. A few minutes later, both men die.

Clerks

Protesilaus1: A man fights someone who is dressed as a sports team mascot in a kitchen.
Protesilaus2: A man loses his gun because an MRI machine is on.
Protesilaus3: Two men beat up people who insulted them on the Internet.

Jet Li’s The One

Sudden Impact with Clint Eastwood

Kubrick’s Paths of Glory

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

The answers to NDP 8-12 and 15 are correct. Evilhanz is correct with regard to the character and the actor for NDP 13, but the film, I believe, is wrong. NDP 14 is still answered as is NDP 1. (However, as a hint, I will tell you there’s a link between NDP 12 and NDP 1.)

NDP 16 - After close inspection, a woman sees that the injuries on a “hurt” boy are fake.

My Favorite Year?

Yes. NDP 14 is My Favorite Year (“I’m a movie star, not an actor!”)

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Barbwire? A movie worth watching only for Pamela’s breathy performance, but she and some other guy did haggle over the price of important contact lenses.

Unless he complains about ketchup in another Dirty Harry movie, then it’s Sudden Impact. Check it out at IMDB: http://us.imdb.com/Quotes?0086383:
Harry Callahan: “Nobody, but nobody, puts ketchup on a hot dog anymore!”

Correct on both counts and you can also add that it is a perfect example on how to massacre a classic movie (in this case Casablanca).

I’ll repeat mine since it seems to have gotten lost:

Sub2: A man with a pornographic tie wants to talk about wrestling.

I checked and I was wrong. For some reason, I thought that particular pet peeve of Harry was first mentioned in Magnum Force and then again in Sudden Impact. (I guess that’s what happens when you try to use scenes from movies you haven’t seen in awhile.)

easy one.

jean-baptiste baptizes his son, etienne, in a river in the movie “Indochine”- and is promptly arrested by french authorities.

cyn, who just reactivated her accounty thing.

I’ll drop some hints to a couple of mine that are unanswered and add a new one.

NDP 1 - A young English woman washes the headstone at the grave of her mother who died destitute.
–Hint: the movie is based on a novel by a well-known American author.
–Hint: both the movie and the novel take place in the early 1900’s.
–Hint: there’s a link between this movie and the answer to NDP 12 (i.e., Fight Club).

NDP 16 - Upon close inspection, a woman notices that the wounds on the “hurt” boy she allowed into her house are fake.

As for the new one:

NDP 17 - A bank robbery suddenly ends when it turns out the bank has no money.

This is a guess but I’ll say Barton Fink.

*NDP 1 - A young English woman washes the headstone at the grave of her mother who died destitute. *
Gotta delurk for this one.

Is it The Wings of the Dove, written by American author Henry James, starring the thin and scary Helena Bonham-Carter??

Tell me, tell me, it’s niggling like hell!

Bye everybody.

Bifar

Correct!

Bonnie and Clyde
