I notice Scum didn’t kill the player with the highest number of posts. Gee I wonder why?
Damn, is it really that simple? I guess it could be. [waves] hi all, sorry I voted for or said mean things about you.
Oh, sometimes they do. I’ve done it whilst scum.
Hello, snoe! Mean things are just part of the game, you quisquilous shred of billingsgate!
Which game did you startle? You might have ruffled, but I do not recall a startle?
It can be simple but no one in the game is currently talking about it.
I don’t recall the details. I’m pretty sure I did, though.
You have not startled me. However, what would really startle me would be if the current group of players could be startled into noticing snoe and prof pepperwinkle had near top posting numbers. And they got killed. But SNF is still alive.
If the dead dog story turns out to be untrue — that’s …
Y’know, KO has a lot more self-confidence that I had in my first game.
How about Stranger? There was a newbie with confidence too. But anyone who plays a lot gets humbled pretty quickly.
I didn’t think Stranger was a new player, just new to us.
In post 25 of the game thread he said he had played similar games, which I interpreted as a familiarity with the concept but not the actual game.
Duly noted. Maybe one of those was the tabletop game Werewolf, which is pretty close.
I doubt it’s untrue. SNF’s luck hasn’t been good at all this year.
So, Stranger, any thoughts on snfaulkner now?
Was there a secret thread for scum to post during the night? Can we read that now? Or did they just communicate through PMs?
Oh, sure, might as well share that.

They didn’t say much, and none of it except the first couple of posts during Day.
I’ll say that I never really strongly thought that snfaulkner was scum (or not); I was just staking him out as a tethered goat in hopes of attracting scum to gang on him as an easy elimination (and feel kind of bad about it after finding out his dog had to be put to sleep). I figured that backfired on me and I was lynched by scum plus three, but only one out of two as it was obvious I was going to get lynched. I thought the last minute voting was indicative of scum action but I seem to have been completely wrong, and while I haven’t gone back through and read through the post-Day 1 thread, I didn’t find that any of the chatter was really indicative of who was scum or town. At this point I’m not sure how I’d even try to implement an MC model to try to make a prediiction that would be better than guessing because the scum split their votes on Day 1 and Day 2. I have to admit scum did a pretty good chance—by skill, guile, or luck—of hiding their true identities.
I’ve generally had pretty good luck playing Mafia-type games in real life (even if I ususally am killed in the first round in elimination games) but I sucked hard at this one.
Stranger
It’s hard making impartial judgements when you’re the moderator and already know everything, but honestly, I’m surprised Mahaloth didn’t swing for his certainty that Biotop was Town. I think that really was a genuine Scum mistake, and Biotop himself even pointed it out.
And then, even with all the talk of the Butterbeer Zone, Mahaloth and Sunny both just coasted along in it for the whole game. People say that Scum tactics won’t work once Town are wise to them, but that only applies if Town actually act on that wisdom, and they usually don’t.
