Spike (BtVS) is revealing himself to be something of an MP fan. Last week he commented on the use of a “comfy chair” as a torture device. Yesterday he referred to the superweapon as the “holy hand grenade.”
Next week is the grand finale. Just wondering what MP references you think Spike will thrill us with.
My prediction, during the final battle scene he panicks and says “Burma!”
Either that or he refers to Andrew as a “sniveling little rat-faced git.”
He’s made some other non-MP pop culture references too. A couple episodes ago, when the gang are exploring Caleb’s lair:
Someone: “It looks like an old winery.”
Spike: “Like Falcon Crest.”
And there was another one recently too, I think, but I can’t remember it.
Actually, Spike watches a lot of daytime TV; he’s also made references to Dawson’s Creek.
And don’t forget Passions.
He’s also a Nirvana fan. To the man with the flaming fists “Here we are now, entertain us.”
He’s also familiar with the Call ATT commercials. “Have you gone completely Carrot Top?”
Actually, he’s never seen the AT&T commercials. He knows Carrot Top because they used to hang out at the same Den of Unfathomable Evil, before Carrot Top got kicked out because “even demons have their standards.”
