5 posts were split to a new topic: Removed from What judgements/assumptions do you make about someome who catches coronavirus"

Removed the posts since they can’t be read? Why not simply delete them? For that matter, why delete them? Because of the subject or the poster?

I gather the posts were “cornfielded,” but not sure of the answers to your questions about when and why that happens.

This is correct. Under vBulletin, when we wished posts into the cornfield, you would not get a link or any indication that anything was done. Discourse leaves an indication that the posts were split off from the original thread.

This is the way that we’ve always done it, mostly for record keeping. The only change is that under vBulletin you would not have seen any notice that anything was done.

Right. A troll/sock post and replies to it were split off and magically transported to the cornfield. As ecg says, we do it for record keeping. We could delete them, but we prefer to have documentation of why a poster was banned in one place.

Thank you.

This is the first time I’ve seen that notice, so I assumed someone had just forgotten to hide the move. Are you saying there is no way to hide moving things to a hidden forum?

It looks like I can remove that notification but I have to do it manually.
