I’m betting that he’s sprouting hairs as we speak, and he’s hoping that nobody will notice the howling.
I really prefer the usual rule at mafiascum: No posting of role-PMs. If I ever ran a game, that’d be one of my rules. Although in this case it may create some interesting controversy…especially if no one realizes that the role PMs are available.
I expect either Oredigger, Daphne or fluiddruid will though.
Okay, I think Seeker’s going to bite the big one toDay. I’m torn. Either he’s just really bad at strategy (confessing to be a wolf if you’re not is just asking for trouble) or he’s scum…AND bad at strategy. And I just have a hard time believing a wolf would say he was a wolf. But I also have a hard time a townie would say they were a wolf for absolutely no reason.
If this were a game with many factions (like, wolves, town, cabal, undead) like we had one time, confessing to be a wolf would make some sense. But since there’s just wolf and town, I can’t see why anyone would say they were wolf. It’s just bad strategy all around.
Okay, now I’m starting to think that maybe Seeker’s not a wolf after all. Just because it’s the most profoundly stupid wolf strategy ever. Things aren’t looking good for town. Maybe they should just go ahead and lynch Telcontar.
The recap of Telcontar does look suspicious. If I were still in, I’d be tempted to lynch em.
If Seeker wanted to mess with the wolves’ game, e would have done better to make eir “confession” post after the Testerizer. As it is, e’s either a wolf or acted in a very anti-Town way.
Killing Seeker is probably a bad idea. But if he is town, he had to have known his strategy would be very anti town b/c some people would want to lynch him just because “what if.” They probably should have gone with Tel and would have if Seeker hadn’t pulled that “I’m a werewolf” crap.
If he didn’t know before, he certainly knows now! Wow. Just… wow. I completely had Seeker pegged as scum. Town really needs to get a correct lynch tomorrow.
Seeker, I’m curious why you thought that was a fascinating strategy. It could have been usefu if a Scum faction was crippled by not knowing who was in their faction – but in standard Mafiascum, the Scum’s advantage is that they know everybody in their faction when the game starts.
So, hello, guys. pedescribe, is it possible to get spoilered, or does my curiosity have to wait?
And everyone else, feel free to monday-morning-quarterback me, I’m new to this and willing to learn…
I think I did pretty well, didn’t draw much suspicion and think my contributions were ok, even though they didn’t get much consideration especially in the beginning.
Perhaps it was just the posting volume, but I’m just not that prolific a poster in general.
I think you did well, too, Adrian. It’s a fine line–you seem too innocuous, town won’t lynch you but the wolves will pick you off because you blend in. You seem too scummy, wolves won’t touch you but town will. I never thought of you as a candidate for a wolf, really.
I’m also curious about why Seeker thought wolf claiming was a good idea. It just seemed really anti town to say you’re a wolf and then take it back because “it was a test!”
As a vanilla town, you shouldn’t be trying to avoid attention. The best thing that can happen to you is to be killed. It gives the Town information, and it means that a power role(if they exist) was not killed. I know this is counter intuitive to what people would expect from a game like this, which is I think part of the problem Town is having right now. Most of the town players are thinking similarly, the “I don’t want to die” issue. But they shouldn’t be worried about that.
On a similar note, they shouldn’t be wasting time trying to analyze why the wolves killed who they did. It’s not possible for the Town to figure it out really, and all it does is cause a distraction. Plus it plays directly into the above issue of “I don’t want to die”.
I’m curious to see if the town goes for Zeriel today instead of Telcontar. They’ve already figured out that it seems strange that somehow the wolves keep eating people who are of opposite alignment than the day’s lynch victim. Let’s see if they can put 2 and 2 together.
One drawback, however, is that Zeriel could easily be lying - he’s not the wolf investigator, but he claimed that role in lieu of the real wolf investigator. You know. Just to confuse the issue.
Heh, I bet they’re gonna get tired of Zeriel not giving them any answers real soon. “I’ve got results but you can’t have 'em if I don’t think they’re relevant” is gonna piss someone off, sure nuff…
And it looks like the town is finally ignoring it completely and actually analyzing peoples’ posts and stuff. Hah.
ETA: not that they/you didn’t before, but it was always in the light of “oh…well…until we get some good data from teh Testerizer, this’ll do” kind of thing.
