Spoil Full House for Me

Uncle Joey and Danny sell the girls into prostitution. Mary Kate and Ashley are double the rate, of course.

Very compelling reasoning. Though I had the racism and pedophilia thing pegged already.

Waitaminute. Give me some background, please, on the whole “Grand Wizard Gladstone” thing. Was this from an episode that they refuse to air on the Disney Channel, or what?

by sleeping with a pop princess half his age.

Sounds good to me.

There are also rumors the song is about co-star Bob Saget (as well as Matt LeBlanc and others), or that it’s just a song. Snopes on the subject

Except, as this thread attests to, a lot of people are still unaware that it might be about him.

I hate to expose just how much MORE of a loser I am, but it’s just “Joey”. It’s NOT “Uncle Joey.” Jesse was “Uncle Jesse” because his sister was Danny’s late wife. But Joey was just Danny’s best friend. They never called him “Uncle.”

If I remember correctly, he was considered an uncle but wasn’t called Uncle Joey. No cite but I’m hearing Danny say “girls, listen to your uncles” or something similar in my mind.

In my defense, I was born in '82 and Full House was at its peak in my preteen years. I have an excuse for both it and my Saved by the Bell fanboyism.

Uh. I think I said too much…

No, Joey was specifically referred to as “Uncle Joey” several times, by most (if not all) of the characters. He was not technically an uncle to the girls, of course (I think he and Danny were childhood friends and possibly college roommates).

I particularly remember one episode where Michelle was upset because everyone else at school had a mommy and she didn’t. I believe it was the one where she tried to set Danny up with her Kindergarten teacher by inviting her to the house and having them eat lunch together. Anyhow, when Danny figured out what was wrong, he told her that all families are different and other kids might have mommies, but she has an Uncle Jesse and an Uncle Joey. Michelle replies, “I bet nobody has an Uncle Joey!”

Touching, really.

Also in my defense, I’m even a couple years younger than Aesiron, so these were my formative years. Full House, Saved by the Bell, Family Matters, Step by Step, Boy Meets World…etc.

I could be wrong, of course, but that’s how the line plays in my head. It’s on Nickelodeon at 4 a.m. Central time. They’ve just ended the series and played the first two episodes this morning.

He was definitely referred to as Uncle Joey on more than one occasion. Or maybe that should be “Uncle” Joey (quotation marks around the word Uncle are almost always code for “child molester”)
