I stopped watching just before she had the druglord’s baby and went to jail. How’d it all end up?
She had a healthy baby boy, and named him Stevie Ray (after Stevie Ray Vaughn, presumably). There are about three seasons after that. Here is the detailed plot summary for Season 6 from Wikipedia and it links to the same thing for Season 7 (from which there’s a link to the one for Season 8).
Unbelievably of course :D. Jenji Kohan loves her some weird, unbelievable cliff-hangers ( and resolutions ). I found it entertaining enough as a sort of light-hearted, silly room version of Breaking Bad with more sex. But I totally get why many folks burnt out on it - it just got sillier with each passing season.
This may sound implausible but here’s how it all ends:
Nancy manages to get weed legalized and starts a business that becomes an empire. In the last episode she sells it off to a tobacco company and retires so she can pine over Andy.
Andy marries a waitress and has a kid (never seen) with her after fucking Nancy on the same spot on the sidewalk where Judah died.
Silas marries Megan, his deaf girlfriend from the first season. They have a baby together. Megan hates Nancy but they don’t get into why.
Shane becomes a bitter, alcoholic NYC cop.
Doug starts a cult and reconciles with his son.
Guillermo somehow reconciles with Nancy after several years of trying to kill her.
I don’t remember if Dean, Heylia or Conrad got any kind of send off.
The show ends on a lovely note though, with all the core characters sitting on a porch passing a joint around.
Did they need to? I mean, Nancy is pretty easy to hate.
Actually, I thought they did get into it. Megan thought that Nancy wasn’t a good parent to Silas, and therefore was reluctant to let Nancy spend any time with her and Silas’s child. Also, Nancy’s business was a chain of marijuana shops called The Good Seed that she sold to Starbucks, not to a tobacco company.
Yeah, it’s pretty explicit as I recall. Silas says he has forgiven his mother her many ( many, many, many ) sins and asks why Megan can’t. Megan says ( either directly or in so many words ) that she never will. She blames Nancy for being the truly shitty parent that Nancy was and will never give her that pass.
Thank you! Implausible but sounds about right. Anything on Celia and her daughter? Nancy had just about jettisoned them when I stoped watching.
Celia’s daughter had a sex change and did carpentry. No word on Celia.
Dean was living with Haylia. Conrad was married to someone he met off-stage, and was working for Nancy’s pot shops.
Note the timeline: Season 7 starts about four years after season 6. Season 8 starts out immediately after the season 7 finale, but the final two episodes jump ahead about six years.
Don’t forget that the tax revenue from legalized marijuana was used to fund universal healthcare, except in the South which opted out of both. Stevie Ray had his bar mitzvah and finally got his wish to go to boarding school. Oh, and dry cleaners have became completely automated like vending machines.
… with one of my favorite songs playing in the background. I still get goosebumps.
What season ended with the big forest fire? I never went back after that one.
Third season. It went downhill a bit after that, but always remained interesting.
A bit? It got to be worse than Dexter…shame too, the first couple seasons were great.
