I really like the “Secret Box” episode. Simple, yet effective.
I once watched an episode in French, seeing as how I was traveling in France at the time. The French dubbed voices did a good job of duplicating the characters’ personalities. The episode I saw remains a favorite, although I don’t know the title.
It was Spongebob and Patrick can’t wait to get a new TV delivered, but it turns out what what they really want is the big cardboard carton so they can get in and pretend it’s a tank or a jet airplane or whatever. Squidward happily nabs the TV but is puzzled by the real aircraft and military noises coming from inside the box (and they are real recordings; that’s why it’s so funny). But every time he opens the box, he just sees Spongebob and Patrick sitting inside looking innocent.
“Idiot Box”.
No ‘Sailor Mouth’ love?
C’mon people…c’mon.
*IMAGINATION *::Moves his hands in a rainbow fashion::
We saw an episode in Germany.
I was translating verbatim – with inflections. No my German is not that good.
I had just seen that episode soooo many times in english. [Season 1 Episode or so, I want to say the Anchor Toss episode with the inflatable arms.]
1.What episodes have been censored? Any chance on seeing the original?
2.Club Spongebob: Just me, or is that too close to Lord of the Flies?
“Just One Bite” removes a brief scene with the Krusty Krab’s security system. It’s a funny scene, but the cartoon still plays well without it.
“Procrastination” loses a good chunk of footage- presumably to remove a brief scene of a real-life car crashing, but edits out more than it should (in my opinion)- in between, a brief scene of SpongeBob looking out the window at his friends playing on this “super-sailorific day” as well as a brief scene of him doing calistenics are also removed. The edit is so abrupt, that one moment SpongeBob sitting at his desk despondent saying “This is harder than I thought,” the next he’s standing up for no apparent reason saying “I can feel those juices pumpin’ now!”
That’s my favorite! Aahhh…the paradise promised by Tentacle Acres–as much canned bread as a cephalopod could want.
Anyone know what that one’s called?
My 9-year-old informs me that it’s called “Squidville.”
