Spongemom - cooling

Truly and honestly, I did not understand what Mynn was trying to communicate until someone else interpreted it. I don’t normally do grammar flames, and I understand that mistakes happen, but to me, her posts, at least up until about page three, have been simply incomprehensible.

I wasn’t trying to ignore what she was saying. I didn’t have any idea what she was saying at all.

I understood her fine, being an insane monkey’s ass myself.

Please. It took us 150 posts to glean that she meant to post this:

Instead, we got:

Not only did she not get in the same universe as her apparent point, but she also dragged an innocent poster’s past issues back into the spotlight for all to inspect again.

For the record, SpongeMom, you’ve impressed me in this thread as well. I apologize for my comment on the first page - it was meant in good fun.

Umm…call me crazy for going back to the problem the OP was addressing, but I was of the impression the thread was locked for that whole pit-ee not here to defend herself schtick. Nahhh…must be more sinister than that.

Also, btw, Spongemom, I think that most people are glad you’re back. We remember the “I am not the Grapist” thread because it was funny, hilarious, ROTFLMAO type I couldn’t read it at work funny. I know I refer to that thread with awe, not with any negative emotion. I would have been proud of that thread and had I started it, it would have been in my sig line forever. I can’t say that I have interacted with you enough to throw a party for for your return, but I’m glad that cooler heads prevailed (what?! a cooling off period worked?!) and you are back sadder, but wiser.

Mynn, get a life…elsewhere…leave us alone.

I am. Your thread had a point, and although you had made some serious mistakes, the pile-on was over the line. Thanks for being tough enough to return, B]Spongemom**. Maybe you even learned something.

Mynn- you seem to be pretty tough also, but your posts seem to lack that all important “point”.

Except, she did notice the injury. And chose not to have it treated. And did not notice the cat’s jaw was broken, and not eating, until it starved to death. Think about that. Can you imagine a pet cat starving to death and no one notices any change in appearance? Behavior? Energy level?

SM, again, I am sorry for what this turned into by my not posting clearly to begin with, causing the mods to drag it to the pit for people to shit on.

short version

[ul][li]I posted, erroneously, that I was told the mods wanted to piss on SM. I was guessing based on what little I saw of their handiwork.[/li]
[li]I see a double standard in this case, others don’t[/li][li]Mods disagree, I need to knock off the windmill-tilting[/li][li]I still don’t get why mods dragged it and dumped in the pit, the place that’s not for everyone[/li]
[li]uglybeech: I’m working on it, should be better at that by now[/li]
[li]John Carter: Implies an intent not present, there are likely more efficient ways to do that if that were my intent. Is not my intent, was not my intent.[/li]
[li]xbuckeye - I wasn’t pitting SM it ended up being moved here.[/li]
[li]DrDeth - Point? Point? Of course I lack points. I’m not allowed to have sharp objects any more in here and they don’t like it when I eat the crayons.[/ul][/li]

long version

  • I was informed by a non admin-mod that it was opened so people could piss all over spongemom again.*

In my pile of editing and rewriting of that post, I’d copied and moved text around enough to end up with that sentence; the sentence above it started out the same way: “I was informed by a non admin-mod* …” . “it was opened so people could piss all over her again” should have been more along the lines of expressing I was guessing, with no evidence to show any other reason for re-opening.

Text in italics above is wrong, while it was indistinctly corrected in post 103, this is a larger-print retraction and correction of it. Again, I was guessing as I had no idea why it would be unlocked after locking and dragging to the Pit - I’d not noticed that had ever happened here before.
In regards to the whole “Let’s leave up the thread of pain, no Mods are involved” thing: I see the double standard, others don’t, oh well.

Staffers apparently still feel they are right in this latest hooraw, oh well. I tried - very badly - but I tried. Must remember I’m not Sam Beckett, putting things right that once went wrong. I tend (as shown) to get a bit riled up and idealistic on things I see being done/run unfairly.

The issue got closed and dumped in the pit, reopened (which apparently does happen!??!?!!) and went to hell long before I knew it was even reopened. I’m still unclear, even now that I know that The Pit is an alternative to ATMB, why it was dragged here, locked, then unlocked. “Here, let’s dump it in the pit, lock it, unlock it and bump it, trallalalalala”. I’m just not getting it.

uglybeech - After a couple of years of being nearly diagnosed (can’t be till I have an ‘official’ stroke or miscarriage, etc) and stumbling along in this fog for a couple of decades, I try expect more of myself. Working daily with it for clarity, working with the more severe migraine attacks that go along with this as I hit a certain age group. I expect more of myself and don’t always get it.

I still lean towards the tendency of rambling, meandering, and calling metal objects earth turning machines rather than simply spades. I’m working on it, but not very efficiently, if the posts of Bastille Day are any indications.

John Carter - actually, if I wanted to be an intentional psychotic bitch, I probably could have just started a pit thread haranguing SM for not turning off or at least setting to admin approve her boards and registrations for a while, and quoted shit from the thread as well.
xbuckeye - I wasn’t pitting SM (though that was apparently unclear). I didn’t start this or put this in the pit. It was dragged here or locked and dragged here. Then unlocked. All in a space of time that occured between my posting and the first emails on this topic.

Additionally, at the time SM first emailed me, I didn’t know it had been unlocked.

DrDeth - Point? Point? Of course I lack points. I’m not allowed to have sharp objects any more in here and they don’t like it when I eat the crayons.

I think I hit most of the main points. Biggirl, to expand on what I said earlier; once your topics are modded into the pit, you’re pitted if you do post and pitted if you don’t. Zero sum game.

As an animal lover, I think I understand where you’re coming from in not seeing how anyone could have behaved in the way described. However, if the goal in life is to learn from our mistakes and improve, what more can you ask of Spongemom than accepting her part of responsibility in the cat’s death and correcting any problems pertaining to that matter now or in the future? If she’s truly gotten the picture, what’s the point in still holding on and belaboring the point? It seems to me that some can’t forgive because the sin is so egregious and continue to make her want to “pay” or something.

Contrition and change is the best life has to offer, IMHO. I just don’t get the bent.

Funny, I’ve started any number of Pit threads, and never had a single one turn on me like yours (or Spongemom’s) did. Maybe the problem isn’t the Pit; maybe the problem is you.

So let this be a lesson to you…If you can’t post coherently for mental, physical, or emotional reasons, don’t post. If you did post an incoherent post, don’t defend it with a whole pile of incoherent posts. Don’t expect up to read between the lines, don’t expect us to understand whatever arcane logic backs up what you said, don’t expect much sympathy when you protest that we don’t understand what you meant. You are right about the zero sum game in the pit, *If you post something that most people don’t agree with * you will likely be the subject of the pitting, unless you can back up your point. The only way to ‘win’ is to take a mea culpa.

For example: “You guys are right, my OP was really poorly written. It seemed to say that I had something against Smom when I really was trying to complain about the mods. It was also in the wrong place, thanks to the mods for the relocation. Now, if we could discuss a possible double standard why some threads are dissappeared and some are not, that was what I originally intended. Apologies to Smom for dragging her into this, and to you all for posting incoherently. I will make every effort to post intelligently in the future”

I should do something to get pitted so I can use that.

I guess you missed my post on page 5, where the vet didn’t find anything wrong with any of them.

Give him(?) time, he’ll catch up to it.

Mynn stop whining to/blaming the mods for putting this in the Pit.

  1. As you admit, the OP was incomprehensible.

Can we get a rewrite on that sentence? How exactly did you err? Do you mean you lied?

One more clarification: What is a ‘non admin-mod?’ Is that a moderator that is not an admin, or someone that isn’t an admin or a moderator?

In other words…

A) Did a mod email you and say, “Dude! I opened that thread so the Pit Denizens can piss all over SpongeMom! High five!” Or…

B) Did some random plebe email you stating, “Oh snap - they reopened your thread and now people are going to piss on Spongemom, stranger!”

Mynn, stop whining to/blaming the mods for putting this in the Pit.

  1. As you admit, the OP was incomprehensible.
  2. Spongemom’s name was in the title. For better or for worst, she is known for being pitted viciously, something you also know.
  3. My bad for re upping. bye. is a textbook “I hate this place and I’m leaving” post, which go in the Pit.

All of these you know, or should know. Stop whining about it. It’s no grand conspiracy against Spongemom.

I don’t get #2. Perhaps you could revise your wording?

  1. ??
  2. PROFIT!!!1!

MUCH clearer!

See, I thought you meant
2) Hi Opal!
3) Profit!!!1!

this is what you get for posting incoherently dot dot dot

My reading of this is that Mynn originally wrote something along the lines of

Somehow, **Mynn rewrote that sentiment into her one-sentence jumble.
